Is there a demand for new buildings.... Everywere I go I see ghost towns.... it seems people are not really using the buildings architects make.....? Are you giving them away or are you selling them....? What do you think of the ghost towns?

Any town is a ghost town when the majority of the group in ownership is not present. Just about every PC I go to seems abandon. But the need for houses, especially after the latest publish is great indeed. Most people use them for storage purposes. the small house is used most often given lot useage and space. People who enjoy a more in depth RPG level, and who can afford to do so, will put up a medium or large house that they can actually call "home". These are considerably fewer than the average storage house, but more often the best customer for an architect, as they need the house, and probably a good starter set of furnishings.
Thing about houses though, alone there is not much demand due to the fact its a one time buy, assuming your customer has some brains enough to pay the maintenance...
Best thing for architect, IMHO, demand wise, is harvestors. At 100K a pop for a good BER 13, a master architect can make a good income off harvs. 2nd best and probably more entertaining, is interior design. Many people dont want to hassle with arranging things in thier house/shop, so they will hire an Interior Designer. I personally do this with one chr, and enjoy it very much. I charge about 50K a room, and supply all the basic furnishings, plus some kind of decorative structure, like a fountain or statue. If you set some macros for /move you can throw together some really amazing looking rooms, even with the crappy limited items your allowed to make, inspite of dozens of other designs being in game. (still pissy about only one type of plant)
Bottom line, I wouldnt make a vendor with the intent to sell nothing but houses.

Lately I've noticed that the flow of 6k houses has pretty much dried up.
Either somebody is beating me to them or the end of the hologrind is truly beginning to take hold.
About all I see anymore are the 6k "auction" houses that you can't buy.

The ghost town effect seems to have been on the rise for several months. Who can predict, perhaps it will level off. I have heard of many cities being "stuck" with a mayor who would like to resign or leave game for a period of time, but has a problem of more inactive residents than actual ones, so that the mayor cannot be voted out even if he wants to. My little village is now in this situation and it will likely die and fade into the mists like Brigadoon.
Sales of housing peaked during the new phase of Player Cities, leveled off, and then declined to a less than modest rate. With the exception of the "out of the blue" big request for 25 houses and a PA Hall.
Interesting times, and time will tell.

I sell a trickle of small houses off of my vendors. I sold about 15 small houses in a month. I buy them for 6k off the bazaar and then resell them for 19k.
There will always be some demand for houses due to new characters.

In reading the subject, I thought you were going to demand new types of buildings from the devs..lol. I think we need some.

my town isn't a ghost town... there's usually somebody (that lives there) at home or at the cantina or in the mall stocking vendors... and we do get a decent amount of tourist traffic as well(shoppers, mission hunters, curiosity seekers)... sure we're not bustling like theed, but usually a radar blip or 3 can be seen at any given time (even more during peak times).

i recently joined SWG on sunrunner and i'm currently grinding for master Arch. from what i've noticed i make decent sales when i have stock. i working on an order for a friend at the moment whose requesting 1 of each harvester. i do get the random question for a factory every now and then. it doesn't hurt that the town i live in "New Haven" usually has like 4 or 5 people in town at one time.

You dont want that type of volatility with structures.. Why should I worry about my structure decaying when I pay plenty of maint. Structures do decay when you dont pay maint.....Now, what they can do is limit the amount of maint a house can have... Cause if I put 500k of maint in a small house, that house will still be there even afterI qualify for social security.

I have noticed since Pub 10 that most of my server is a ghost town... except for Dathomir of course.
Yet I just had an order for 15 medium houses, and sold another 3 on my vendors last night, and 1 large. It seems to me that in my area, people have bought their storage houses, and are now focusing on larger houses for "status".
So although there seem to be less people, I've seen no drop in demand or sales.

There are tons of folks who love being unique in the game or having something different. I would love to see some mission reward schematics or special 1 time use schematics for new structures.
1. New houses, something like Imperial Citizens Estate, given by the emperor for a quest, Tatooine Settlers Farm house, given as a quest reward, Frontier House for Lok and Dantooine....
2. Some special statues - Hero of the Republic, Naboo Hero, Tusken Killer, Jawa Avenger....
3. Some special parks - special flora or trees like exotic parks, but looted items.
4. More furnitue, lights and plants. Right now I sell about 100 pieces of furniture a week. People love to update and change things. Give me new stuff.
5. New structures to improve the game - dairy/farm to generate eggs and milk. Warehouse, so many people use input hoppers on factories for storage anyway, make a warehouse that would have 4 or 5 subsections you could sort inventory in.
6. JTL structures - new factory, have a hangar where people can call there ship on the ground to customize it with paint and decals and show their friends their ship......
7. GCW structures - upgrades for bases. 1 upgrade causes more troops to spawn, 1 upgrade increases hitpoint of turrets/walls....
