Thread: Will the recent Patch Increase Price

Hey all,

I know that we have tried to create a society that doesn't undercut each other. Though I was shocked when I found out that folks were selling small houses for 3 - 5k. Will this recent patch increase the price of houses? I hope so, but then the question becomes will the customers understand why this has happened. i personally don't wnat to have to type an explanation every single time about why my prices have changed. So I think I will create a macro that will just state the reason for the changes. Let me know your thoughts. I was charging 75k before for a medium house, and yes I was providing maintenance to my machines and power for the first 8 days and then I stopped supplying the power. Just wondering what I might be able to charge now, I hope we all take this opportunity to help make our profession a stronger financially viable profession.

Yes, this patch will increase the cost, this is a great thing, and it will also weed out all of the exploiters that were not paying harvester power and fees =)

To Sirskater, I just want you to know that had you still been an Artisan and not an Architect when this patch went through, you'd be complaining like everyone else.

I'm heading for Architect....or rather....was heading for Architect. It's not going to happen now. I'm not a casual gamer, I do play for four hours or so a day. However, now that credits have become a prerequisite for Architect (much like Crafting Experience is ), all of us Artisans who were striving to attain our Professions have officially been playing for nothing.

It's really frustrating to know that in one day, your goal of reaching Architect in two weeks has been blasted into about four months.

On the subject of houses, you can be **edit** sure that prices will go up in everything. Check out the Artisan Forum. I think you'll find that nearly everyone in there has agreed to skyrocket their prices. God knows we have to make money somehow.

If you want to be an Architect, just grind out weapon powerups, they are super cheap to make, and give 44 xp each, if you have engineering IV then you need 750 of them to get architect I, that is about 3 1/2 hours work.

Think about it people!! with this change it is now how it should have been from the start. Power and maintenance were bugged now they are fixed.

Making it harder to get resources means one thing only. Now that PA architects have the Halls and are moving on to something else it is us the artsians that will profit.

You think 10K a house is going to stay. of course not the price is going to SKY-ROCKET. I said they would once PA halls are built and PA arch's are done now they will go up even more. Prices are going to go through the roof people. That means no more Pistol specialist with more money then Novice architects. all the money they have made on Destroy missions are going to be spent on our items.

If it take use a day to gather all the resource needed for a house then we sell for a Days worth of destroy mission. there time for our time. makes sense.

People post your feedback. And artisans post what you think is Fair

I agree the changes the just went into place will without a dought raise the prices. But the problem is if you made arch you are lucky. I am 8k away from arch. and it has been changed from a one - two day goal to about a two week goal, because harvesting is so slow now. even with the harvesters now all my time is spent on tryin to get the money to keep the harvester over 100% so it will work. And i don't have anything worth selling to get the money. So if you are a artisan when the patch hit you are screwed.

Your not screwed. I am an architect with only three skills trained. Yes I agree it will take longer. But that's the point what the hell type of game would it be if everyone was Master Everything within a few weeks. Yes I know some grinded like mad with PA's to back them and now they are ahead of us. My answer deal with it.

Life isn't fair nor is SWG. You need to make money and no one is buying? good don't sell since prices will go up. Go use some of your skill points and get some fighting skills. do some destroy missions go check out another planet. Find Jabba the Hutt. Have fun. don't bitch about not being Master anything the second week it comes out. you shouldn't be for months.

And Again Yes I know some are already and again DEAL WITH IT.

Oh yeah and don't forget to shop at Narr's where the Price matches the quality.

Not being an architect yet is not gonna take forever. I am already an architect, yes. I agree it will take a little longer to get to eng III, but that is not too bad. When I was an artisan, I didnt know about the power bug or if harvs would work if they were not fully maintained. So I kept my harvestors always with power and maintenence so that they would work. Took about 30 minutes a day doing delivery missions and could easily keep my harvs running. I also spent hardly anytime at all sampling once I could build my own harvs.

10 small personal harvesters arent hard to maintain for an hour or 3 of one architects time. I dont agree with some of the responses that others are saying that its now hard to do, or now they have to work that much more. What the hell were you doing while you were waiting for your material from your harvesters to harvest enough to make difference? Once you have your harvesters powered and set up, you should take an hour after that to go get some cash, once you get enough to mainten them for another days worth, do your crafting, its not gonna be until the next day anyway that the harvesters will have enough of the materials your gonna need to really bite the bullet and have a click fest anyway.

This patch while some may call it stupid, is actually the smartest patch for us.

Werent you all tired of seeing the things you worked hard for to achieve be sold on the bazaars for 5k or less?? I know I was, and now with the harvesters having to be mainted with creds, those days are gone, since its now not a viable option.

I'll be the first to admit that I was one of those people when I started making harvesters, I just stuck them out and let them go. My mindset was, why put anything into them other than power if they were gonna work anyways, and by the time I needed to fix them, I would have 10 times the amount in material to make just ONE! So in a business sense, and thats whatI am, a business man, I played the plant and burn harvesters. I didnt sell anything, I just stored the ore till I knew I would be ready to make them. I made some medium harvesters and those I take care of like my precious, but the ratio of burn to upkeep wieghed more on the upkeep, so I kept them up, like I was supposed to in the first place.

Its not hard to make 15k an hour guys, thats 7 missions...go do Gnort missions, thats 2k a pop

This patch brings back the life into the profession. So those whining that they wont come be an architect....well....SEE YA. You didnt deserve to be one anyway. For those that are sticking around, and like the new way things are going to be run, and I for one am and like whats happening. Hope to see you all building chit!

the fact still remains resources are less than 1 credit a unit even with power...... 5k house will happen people like it or not.

2 mineral harvester 60%

1 solar harvester 50%

cost to mantian = 2160

net resources brougth in = 400 excess power/day 3456 units of _______ /day

make one house sell for 5k you doubled your money.... small houses for 5k is very viable even with power. the larger you get the more overhead you run but the general principle applies i'm sure no house should be that expensive. heck jsut wait 6 days and make a medium house. sell it for 25k and you doubled your money from the 12k it costs you.

And reward the master architects who exploited the faction bug!!!!

This change is over the top - a change was necessary - but this was too much. The harvesters should become very inefficient as they decrease in condition - they shouldn't shut down at 99%
