I'm just wondering here because I see an awful lot of heated discussion here regarding prices, and people pricing one another out of the market, and not making enough profit, and that houses don't degrade.

Do you guys still like what you do? Is the Architect skill tree worth it? I'm just hoping I can hear some positive feedback. =)

I, for one, wish I had chosen a different profession.

I for one LOVE the profession but will be selling off my points soon if things don't change. Most professions dont give a didly about these moving resources because they need 100 here, 100 there and its no big deal to go find that again.

Us on the other hand we need 13,000 ore to build ONE medium house. So we plop 20 harvestors on a spot getting guild mates to spend their time helping put them there, And the next day POOF resource gone .. not only do you have to find it again, you have to remake those harvs, or lose the maint you put in them and move them, and get your guildies on to move theirs. It is such a PITA !! Once a week I could handle .. moving a resource every 24-48 hours is NOT acceptable for architects.

I love my profession. I think a lot of artisans in general are pricing items way to high... but, I haven't seen any houses for sale yet so I dont know about them. I think it's a lot of work to build a house, but not too much... I feel like I've accomplished somethign when I finish one, instead of just grinding out anotehr item.

It keeps me entertained for the moment. It's great for people like me who don't care much for grouping. It's a little early to be judging this profession because the worlds are still so young. Save your final judgement until the economy stabilizes some more. I think a lot of people have been getting into it thinking it's a get rich quick occupation and are being disappointed. Rich maybe but not quick. I did it because it allows me to build the coolest things in the game. When starships enter the game I will probably switch to building those. So how content you are reallydepends on your expectations. I for one don't regret the effort I put in to attain it.

They shouldn't move resources more often than a week, and even better it should be every couple of weeks. I haven't noticed them moving them every 24-48 hours on my server, but I assure you if they did I would quit...

no i am not happy...

leveling up to novice i made about 100K just selling stuff...since i made novice I have made 0...

i am down to 9000 credits...

i cant sell a house becuase some idiots on another planet will sell you one ready made for 6000...only 1000 if you bring the res...why is this the only profession where people dont want to make money...people ask for mediums and freak that its 50K...same people who pay 12K fopr 1 piece of armor..when they buy the smalls for 6K they asssume meds should be no more than 15K

Resources are a pain..i have had to buy them recentelty and feel i am forced to pay these outragous prices...they swicth everymorning...i see other professions leveling and i see other players advancing...my skills dont seem to move..a couple of firends trained 3 things yesterday...i just sat around clicking and achived nothing...i spend 98% of my game time now doing nothing but dealing with resources...that leaves little time to do oher things

My wrist hurts from clicking...i dont ever have enough resopurces at one time to bother with a factory..

the 10 lots have really restricted me on what i can do....some poeple want to seee their houses before they buy but i cant place it to show it...

the 10 lots i think is just not enough...

leveling is really like a grind since all i do is make small houses no one wants...

if i make 13 smalls today i can get a skill that will allow me to get 1 more box...ithat allows me to build 2 more strcutures for all my work...i t will let me build a structure i cant actuaklly makebecause i can not build a simple HARVESTING MECHANISM

then i have to level and entire trrr called constuction...thi sgives me more experimentation....except expeirmentation does nothing and has no real effect on the buildings so thats another 250K in points or 45 small houses build for nothing..

i cant cutsomize anything

this was not the fun profession it was in Beta

I think it has the potential to be fun, but I am hoping there is more coming. In the book it mentioned battlefield structures, turrets, bunkers... That is what I was looking forward to. When the PAs get going I want to be able to build defenses around our city/hall to ward off other guilds...

So many people seem in such a rush, and are annoyed by the slow pace. The game hasn't even been live 2 weeks. I expect it to take me a month to get to architect, because I am also hoping to be a smuggler. I think as part of my character an architect is going to be fun, but only an architect, would be a little boring.

I'm 50/50 right now. I really do like crafting something (such as a house) and having it MEAN something instead of grinding away on couplers or other useless items. When I'm dealing with a customer, I make sure they know what their money is going for...I explain to them how many resources even a small house takes, what's involved in the construction, the possibility of Critical Failures, etc.

I have some serious reservations about this whole resource situation and how they seem to vanish off the planet every day. This just can't happen, and there is no way I can be successful as an Architect with the current system. The low Lot allocation combined with changing resources is killing me, as it is killing a lot of other architects. The poster above said it best....no one else cares about the rapidly changing resources, because they don't have 30 harvesters to worry about and don't need 20,000 units of something to build their rifles or pieces of armor.

I'm not saying I'm giving up yet...I'm just taking orders and filling them as fast as I can, getting some experience in the meantime, and hoping that the Developers take a serious look into some issues that will make this the most unplayable profession in the game.

I do like it for the most part, but with the new bugs that have come up my job has become very hard. While I think I will stick with it, its not much fun to find out that you have a crit failure on a house and thus have lost all of your resources because of the fact that you don't have any harvesters that are working

For what is one of the hardest professions in my opinion it has the smallest rewards as far as money is concerned. I love the idea of building houses etc but yesterday I saw some dude selling small houses for 3k. I can't compete with that. I'm going to trade down to armorsmith and hope to make some money. I love architect I really do but I can't survive all the nerfs to the profession. If I make houses for a living and can't even afford to buy myself decent armor or a decent weapon...Why bother?

Happy and loving it!

Come on its not that bad. I love the profession and love making peoples houses just such a thrill. Do I have 1,000,000c No but I am on my way. Give me a couple weeks.

How can you not make money I can't hold a house for longer than 5 minutes after I make it. Last night I came close to hiring three Architechs to help me out. I couldn't find anyone willing. IHATE turning people away its just plain bad for business. I have orders for the 2 mediums a night for the next 4 days and I flat out just stopped taking orders for a bit.

Now all i need is some ORE hehe.

I love it tremendously, I just hate the dang critical failures on HOUSES!!! Ugh!!! I think we crit fail way too much for the amount of items we actually get to craft because of the huge ore bottleneck.

Our resources on Sunrunner haven't moved yet but I will be highly upset when they do. Whats the point of plopping down super expensive medium harvesters? Silly.. just silly. It's not like we're getting huge amounts of Ore anyway! Why make us move stuff around?
