Heh, I think it is more than "young" people. I mean there are young people playing weaponsmiths and armorsmiths, so why don't you see stuff selling for 3 per resource in that area?

I know this is going to turn into a flame fest, but I'll say this anyway.

I've posted a number of times why selling structures for less than you could get selling pure resources makes economic sense. Demand for resources is higher, since they are consumable and structures are not, therefore you can charge more per unit and get business flowing in.

I don't sell anything that I don't make a profit on, but my prices have always been on the low side of the scale. The fact is, I want to make money. If I have a choice between selling 5 medium minerals at 20K and you selling 5 at 20K, or me selling 10 at 15K, which should I choose? Furthermore, money in hand is a worth lot more to me, so I try to price stuff to move. THAT is economics for you.

So go ahead and tell me I suck, crobsahm. I know architect is a dead end profession right now, and it won't last forever (or even much longer...I'm getting orders for heavies and fusions, and after that, what is there?). I don't care; there's plenty of other stuff to do. I'm making money now, and will continue to do so the way I choose.

Jeez, just sell for whatever you want. I plan on selling them at 6.5 cred/res, the same as I charge on my other heavies. At first, I'll be entertaining bids from the people that absolutely refuse to wait & want it now. That should be around 200k each from them.

Some other Arch selling at 100k for a heavy won't stop me from selling a few at 200, and then my regular 6.5 cred/res. The guy selling at 100k can't even dream about filling more than MAYBE 5% of the demand for the floras right now.

Already ordrered two heavies at 120k each. Thats a bargain IMHO. Lowball all ya want, but 120k sold 4 (2 to me, 2 to my PA doc) instantly as soon as we saw the post on our server board.

Sell for whatever you want to. Frankly I have found that whatever price I sell for, I am still resource bound. I hav emore orders than resources typically. People who sell for low prices will sell immediately leaving other customers for us to sell to at out prices. I will be selling these for 160k. My goal is not to havet he lowest price, but to have 1 or more items in stock on my vendor. So that when a person wants to buy, they can come and buy .. not hunt .. or wait .. or look for architects to purchase from. So for those that wan tto sell low, go for it.

Ah, I love posts like this. If you are going to question someones grasp of economics, maybe you should a) learn some yourself and b) read the whole post before you flame.

First of all, he didn't say that he was going to sell at cost. What he said was that his cost is lower, so why shouldn't his prices be lower? That's basic economics. I'm not sure I understand your mangled Home Depot argument, but if you are asking why a self-employed lumber harvester should charge the same as Home Depot, the answer is - because people won't buy his lumber if they can get it cheaper at Home Depot. (This of course ignores issues of quality, but quality doesnt seem to have any effect on architect items anyway).

So, if you are unwilling to reduce your materials cost (in this case, by doing your own harvesting) then yes, you will get priced out of the market. Again, basic economics. Why should you get benefits other people are working hard for?

P.S. if you are planning in the future to accuse people of being too immature to know how to run a business, perhaps it would help your argument to avoid the use of capital letter shouting "stupid" and "you suck".

Me too, bugs the crap out of me. It's short for "you are", it's a contraction...how hard is that to remember?

This, of course, comes from a generation that is soooooo busy they have to abbreviate a three-letter word like you as u. Or my favorite, any = ne. Wow, you saved a whole letter! Good boy, here is ur cookie!

I find it much funnier when I meet IRC crackheads face to face, and they still abbreviate things. Guess what, when you actually *say* "**edit**" you are *adding* two syllables!
