I have yet to have a customer ask about hopper space.

I think its possible that if you advertise large hoppers and make a big deal out of it that some people might consider it a bonus. It certainly doesn't hurt.

Yeah, I've hit +11 as well recently.. Never tried much to find the CAs to do it,since I never saw much of a bonus to have it in the first place. As Pawlin mentioned, I've never had a customer concerned with hopper size. Only the BER. I'm not big in math, but I'm sure someone can figure it out... but, I know that with a 116k hopper size, I can leave a BER 13 on a 80% spot from within 1 hour of the resource shifting in, and the hopperhits 100% on the day it shifts out. But, I usually don't leave a harvester to run without getting some resources from it in the middle of a shift as I'm sure most folks do the same thing.

I paid a fortune for a +25 structure experimentation (and +25 med foraging ROFL) belt, mainly because it seemed like a fun thing to have. Even though more hopper space is mostly pointless, people still give you respect for having the points. It's kind of about being professional I think.

And who knows what they'll do down the road....

I have my +22/+23 clothing tapes and i enjoy having that extra hopper size. Just nice to have the room for another 12k-20k of resources and i can wait an extra day or 2 to check my harvesters. This doesnt seem like oh wow it was worth it- but i like it and thats all that matters.

I've had +12 for a little while now and have been finding the larger hopper sizes have been a real bonus, especially for Chems and Fusions. Of latethough we have been seeing high-end resources spawning for in excess of 9 days (we had one steel on Talus that was in shift for a record 13 days!!!).

People are starting to see that there are benefits in having large hoppers (i;ve even had customers complement me on them), and with the remaining stocks of BER7 OMUs left over from the Experiment Tuesday patch, I'm hitting hopper sizes in the 145k range .

Stuman, are the larger hopper sizes advertised by yourself or other architects on your server?

I've seen on some servers trade forums that people advertise having larger hopper sizes. I don't know how much it helps but it is an advantage.

A couple of times I have and have found a bit of interest mainly from the big miners (they find anything that saves them a couple of days of not having to run around emptying hoppers is a bonus). Most of the time I dont though and don't differentiate on the price either.

My latest ad on the Valcyn trade boards did make mention of it and I have had 3 people make a beeline to my shop specifically for that reason, but again, they were professional miners (if you can call them that).

I might try it a price differentiation though and see how its received - but my quess is that people will go for the small hopper (& thus cheaper) harvs and not be willing to pay the extra cost.

It would be interesting to do a test with 2 sets of harvesters side by side on the same vendor:

a) larger hopper and more expensive, b) normal hopper and normal price- and then see if people were willing to pay for the larger hoppers.

I started playing around Nov, Dec 2003. While initially I did smuggler things, most of my time has been as an architect. I have had one order in my entirearchitect career where the customer wanted thehopper sizeto be a certain size.

Perhaps if more attention was paid to the hopper size, and it's benefits, people would consider it a welcome bonus. Just a thought.
