Thread: Question on schematics
My question is are the transferable and use use one..do you have to use a factory or can you choose to make it with structure/furniture kit and station? thanks for any help you can offer.

They're only usable in factories. They can be traded, however I don't think the reciever will see it in the trade window, though he will get it in his datapad.
I tried to make general factory but found I need 3 stacks of "similar" componence. then how would i be able to create a factory if i need a factory just to make it?thanks for the help.
Roate A'fey
Similar really means nothing. Just make them by hand. If it says identical, then they need to be factory-made.
Thank you very much. That help me figure what that term "similar" was. Didn't want to waste what rescorces I had just to find out i could make it that way thanks for all the responces.

My holo said I needed master chef. I have two questions.
1- After I make master chef, can I keep a foodschematic, load it in a factory, and make food buffs as I want, even though I no longer have points in the chef tree?
2-Do schematics decay with use? Every time I make one, it says something about 1000 use max, which doesn't seem right. I am hoping I can use the schematic for years to come. I'd like something to show for mastering the entire tree, other than a stupid badge.
Thanks in advance for your help.
ermmmm your best bet is to acquaint yourself with a real chef and buy your food...
Its really not very nice to come here and ask can you do everything we can do without using any of the skill points.

A: Yes

A: Sort of...each time you make an item from a schematic, it reduces the overall amount of items you can make from that schematic. Plus, you have to make sure to have the resources that match that schematic for years to come.
Nikii, I asked two questions, of which you answered zero. I was looking for information, and don't see how you can construe ill intent from two questions. I am merely being honest. Chef is what my holo told me to master and is just a step for me opening my force slot.
Thanks for your advice, Syke. That is the info I was looking for.
no, not ill content...just another person looking to have the advantages without the cost. And frankly finding a real chef while you are gaining your skill will benefit you in several ways... training, advise and establishing a relationship for future purchases. Lets face it, chef is being revamped in a month (hopefully) whatever schematics you make will be outdated. Your schematics will get used up even if you do manage to gather enough resources to make it worth your time to make a bunch.
The ill content comes in because most of the chefs here have seen/ heard a billion times...
"hi, Im a holochef. What items sell the best? Id like to run off a ton of schematics while Im master so i can sell them cheaply to try to get my money back." thousands of holochefs running around doing this obviously has an impact on our profession. If 10 holochefs on my server go around selling breath of heaven for 200 credits a stack...well yes that is gonna effect the chefs on my server in SEVERAL ways. People will begin to think that food comes with the poor quality being sold (which will be very poor for that cheap) and people are uneducated enough about food already without being misguided. People will begin to expect to pay that stupid below cost amount and I dont really want to hear "but so and so sells it for 20 times less than you you must be ripping people off"
If you give up a profession, why should you expect to keep the benfits of said profession? If I go get bounty hunter and give it up, can I still use eyeshot fora year afterwards? No. But yet, its acceptable to be able to make master chef foods without being a chef? Maybe to you but I dont think youll find many crafters that agree with you. We have to tie up our skill points to participate in this profession, you are looking for ways to have all of the benifits and none of the disadvantages. The game allows it, so you can do it. But I wouldnt expect any crafter that is devoted to their profession to be loving of what you are doing as you are only devaluing what they do...and at no cost to yourself.
I understand your viewpoint, and you are entitled to it. However, you made a flawed assumption that I am going around cheap selling chef food buffs, which is not so. As to what others are doing, that is their business.
Don't get mad at the players. I am not Sony, and am not dictating that in order to open your fs slot, that you must master professions that you wouldn't otherwise be in. Blame it on Sony, but not me. I have so many credits invested in Artisan and Chef that I need to make a decision. Do I stay in chef for six months, or drop the skill blocks as soon as I gain Master chef? I need to recoup my credits somehow. This is the system Sony set up, and not the holo-chefs. Email Sony on it, but don't flame me.
Yes I know its SOEs fault. The whole holocron crap is their fault. Holocrons and forced professions have got to be the lamest thing to ever hit a MMORPG. Totally ruins the game for many people. But it is still up to you what you decide to do and how you decide to play your character.
And as for my first post, I didnt say you were doing it to sell. I said you were better off finding a real chef to buy stuff from. You commented about my being defensive and I explained why I was (enter the sell thing). I stand by what I said for the reasons pointed out in my second post. No matter how many schematics you make, you are going to evenutally find your schematics are lacking or they are going to run out. When that time comes you will need a chef unless you plan to stop using food. In addition as I said, finding a chef now and setting up a relationship now will enable you to get free or reduced fee training as well as a having a person to go to with questions/advice. While I didnt answer your question in the way you wanted, I still think the advice is better ![]()
