Thread: GCW: Each profession will be able to contribute
[17:33] [Runesabre] We have an extensive planf or revamping the GCW coming up. The general goal is to provide the means for every profession to have a tangible impact on the ongoing GCW struggle.
[17:33] [Runesabre] Each profession will be able to contribute to the struggle in their own playstyle (not just through combative means) and the balance of power between Rebels and Imperials should have a tangible impact on the day to day play experience of every player."
The question will be how? No teaser or anything? I can envision many ways in which Architects can participate, but, what do the Devs have in mind?
I could make a list of what *I* think Architects could do. Does anyone have Any clue what to expect?

Dabbler
I just saw a copy of the full transcript of that interview, not just the parts that were released to the public. In it Runesabre let slip a few things that he should not have with regards to specific plans for certain professions involvement in GCW. There were many exciting things planned for every crafting profession and he mentioned that Artisans and Architects had been so far the worst off when it came to direct involvement.
In ordr to restore the balance somewhat certain things were in the pipeline for these professions.
Artisans will have the opportunity to create advanced vehicles that can be used in combat, there will be a futuristic APC and an attack craft similar in principle to a light tank. These vehicles will be capable of being destroyed by enemy fire. They will also be able to craft a new style deflector shield which could be mounted on a vehicle to provide added protection to the vehicle and it's occupants, these also will suffer combat damage.
Architects will be given the opportunity to craft a cigarette lighter for a sniper to sight on and shoot the unfortunate smoker. It is expected that these will rejuvenate the architect profession and give them a sense of involvement in the struggle.
Lol, reminds me of my old sig before I went with a textual image:
He strikes a match
I see the flame
He lights his cigarette
I take aim
He doesn't hear the gunshot roar
as his limp body strikes the floor
-Ode to a sniper
Just too bad we riflemen aren't snipers at all![]()
We should probably start debating how much to charge for those cigarette lighters. Lets start the undercutting at 2 cpu shall we? Anyone go for 1.5 cpu?
Pheh, good luck trying to sell them at 1 cpu. Too many jedi around.
biwan: You don't want to sell me deathstick lighters.
TH was quoted ( I can go look for it if I need to, but don't have the link) that Faction items will ONLY be purchsed using FP's.
I think in our case we are the builders, who make the mines & factories, that produce the stores & resources, that makes the guns that Bob uses (3rd grade educational verse here)
Maybe we can build them but the only way to plant the deed is to use faction points?
So if we make the deed its worthless until someone with enough FP uses it.
