Architect Archive
Thread: I am posting this here to see what Architects have to say about this
My idea is this.
The Architects should have another structure they can build, called a Kennel.
It would be the size of probably a mining device but with a bigger foot print.
The funuction would be to allow people the ability to put their Pets they have aquired into it...like another Storage device.
In this way, they could then collect more specimens.
The maintenence would start at 10 credits per and would increase by 2 credits per, for every 3 pets they store in the device.
yes this would be a structure....
The reason I came up with this item...is that this is a building structure....and right now...the storage space on people for Creature Pets, droids and Faction pets is limited.
With the coming of the City structures it stands to reason that people may want to have these places available so that they could get their Droids, Creature, or faction stuff out so that they could have a guard force of some kind when needed.
It also stands to reason....that with the limitations on how many creatures people can have...some people will be forced to want a structure of this kind to store more pets.
And I was thinking it should probably be a level 3 Item....
Heck their could be different styles and sizes made even, if a need for variety was important enough.
Perhaps even a different struicture depending on the creature types would be good.
I also think this is a great idea, both as a CH and as an Architect. (Different characters) Beyond that I like the idea of making 3 different sizes, creature pen, menagerie and zoo. Each with a different cap on the number of creatures they could hold. I do think they should each take just 1 building slot. This allows a master CH to try things like collecting 1 of each species in the game. The CH would still be limited to only being able to call what was in their Datapad so I don't think it would significantly effect game balance and it would act as a constant money drain. My CH has no real need of building slots, so my only money outlay are better weapons, shuttle costs and guild fees. I some times use harvestors but thats mainly to make more money or help friends when they need resources. If the devs think this allows a CH to mature to many pets at once you could either freeze the pets age when its put in the pen or slow it down by some factor. On the Zoo it would also be nice if you could charge for admission and it was laid out well. This even seems like something that would in well with the new Player Cities. If you wanted to even further help Architects make some of the maintenance have to be Feed Bins. So you have to pay credit maintenance and feed bins, instead of credits and energy.
I support this idea 110% - please reply and make this thread stand out on the Architect forum.
It's possible something like this will be available with player mounts or player cities.

I had some other interesting structure ideas...but i think most of these are going to be delt with when the cities are released so I have said nothing about them.
I'd make the maint be based of the creature level being stored. It costs a lot more to feed a Rancor than a Durni. Also have some maint on the kennel/stable.
If you want to get really tricky. Make it so you can't house aggresive and non-aggresive creatures in the same stable. Wouldn't want that Razor Cat to eat all your Durni's.
