Thread: Bad news for Architects in Friday Feature?

According to the Friday Feature, it appears the devs are getting rid of the holo grind at some point in the future. This means a lot of people will stop hologrinding, which in turn, means less demand for resources and in turn, less demand for harvesters to dig up all the grinding materials.

On the other hand, there will be more demand for high quality resources for Chefs, Armorsmiths, Weaponsmiths, and Doctors as more people return to combat. Unfortunately for Architects, mining high quality resources is not readily done with large, lot-traded harvester farms, which probably account for a significant portion of architect demand.

Need I say more?

But on the other hand, when we need to buy resources, they won't be 15cpu.

The market for bulk low quailty grinding resources is definatly cut in 1/2, or maybe even by 2/3. I think that things will probably be the same for the next 2-3 weeks as people start to settle back into professions they like, but after that.. good luck.

I'm not sure how other servers are looking, but Kauri is pretty much capped on cities, and most players have homes. Infact I haven't sold a medium house in 2 weeks and I have 1 of each type stocked. I sell a lot fusions, butI've only soldtwo heavies (good BER 13 kind)since I started making them. I've been a master architect for a littleless than a month and I hope that this profession is not dying with the end of the holo grinder.

Woo hooo,

This is a great thing. That means no more holo-grinders out there putting out cheep high quility goods. Also that should increase the amount of resources out for sale, decreasing prices and with any luck decrease the number of architects out. We maybe able to go back to the golden age when you could town throw a rock and not hit an architect.

Though this will also mean at least in the short team. All those who want to grind to unlock the FS are going to have to rush to get it done before the changes take effect, which should give a one big last boost to sales.

i think they will be fix the bug of harvesters first and later less ber or another because i've a good spot (90%) with ber 13 and 1 day i take 20k than 29k ressources. But maintenance pool i pay full (1day cr=1day), contrary to harvest...

I will be surrend artisan prof. and architect if that continue, because i spend a lot per day for less ressouces..

They aren't getting rid of the holo grind. If you read it carefully, the Friday feature is only talking about changing things for those who have already opened their FS slot. It has nothing to do with opening the FS slot. It was worded very poorly.

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

"The second phase will be to rebuild the Jedi system to be quest-oriented; and toinclude the familiar elements of Force Sensitivity, Jedi-oriented quests, as well as many other elements the developers and the community feel should make up the process of becoming a Jedi. (It should also be noted that players who have put in work towards becoming a Jedi will not lose their effort. Some sort of recognition of players' efforts will be included in the new system.)"

thats the relevent part of what is said... yes not worded very well, but the way i read it is that this is a new system for becoming a jedi, not post jedi content as you belive it says...

and toinclude the familiar elements of Force Sensitivity, Jedi-oriented quests, as well as many other elements the developers and the community feel should make up the process of becoming a Jedi.

its the "becoming a jedi" phrase that stands out to me as a new system for well... becoming a jedi.

maybe its both... who knows?

1st holo: BH - done... finaly.
2nd holo - commando - done
3rd holo - BE

The relevant phrase is "becoming a Jedi," which is not the same as "opening your FS slot." We do tend to confuse the two phrases, because in our mind opening our FS slot IS becoming a Jedi, when there are actually some very definite phases towards becoming a Jedi. Phase 1 = Opening FS slot. Phase 2 = Padawan/Learning phase. Phase 3 = Jedi phase. Phase 4 = Master Jedi phase. Which part of this process is being discussed in the Friday Feature? Many people are assuming that it includes both the Opening Slot phase and the Padawan/Learning Phase, but if you look at the actual list of what they are going to be modifying, it has nothing to do with opening the FS Slot.

i believe that can be read either way...so I guess for now we dont konw for sure.

I hope hologrinding is done with...to have half the people in a profession being people who are just doing it to be jedi removes from the pool of resources as well as artificially alters the game economy.

read the Jedi boards. There was a quote from Garva floating around there. It definitely says changes to the way you open the FSCS are coming. You may not have to hologrind or change your character, but it also may be harder to get.
