Thread: Minerals?
I've had allot of luck with finding 90% tat fiber spots, but I have never located anything higher than 55% spots for steel and ore. Is there a planet I should be looking on? My mineral harvesters usually end up on Naboo. Also, anyone have a Surveyor that they pay to hunt down good spots? I would be interested in paying someone well to do that kind of leg work.
I dont know for sure but im betting that the different types of resources have maximum concentration rates.
I have no problem finding high spots for radiactive for fusion generators, found an 82% in no time yesterday...but looking for ore the best I got to was 67% on Tatooine. I thought it wasnt that good but guildies said it was a great concentration for ore.

This would be intune with RL. Ore is usually mixed into stone with other components, to find a spot with 100% ore is impossible. (I think anyway, lol)
Not really.
Where do you think iron comes from? Iron ore. They don't just dig into a giant block of iron in the ground. Aluminum does not exist in metal form in nature, it is extracted from an ore called Bauxite. Bothmetals need to be extracted frommineral ores and earth.
Therefore it actually would make more sense to have the reverse. 100% ore and 50% Steel, Alum, Copper, etc, as metals are always mixed with other minerals, ores, rocks, etc.
The highest I've ever personaly seen ore shift in was at 70% on Lok. However the rest of the time it's anywhere between 50 and 60. If I come across anything higher then 50, I stop looking and use that as my final spot for placing my harvesters.
I can alwaysfind the majority of the remaining resources we use in our professionat spawns of higher then 80%without much troublue. Metals are usually in the 80s and lube oil is always in the 90s.

I've seen ore in the high 70's once, right after the player city publish. I imagine the devs figured we'd need the extra to keep up with the demand for new city structures and houses etc. It also lasted a long time as I recall... over 10 days.
Now I rarely find ore concentrations higher than 60%. But you can usually find 70%+ locations for all other metals if you look hard enough. Same with chem and gas.
