Ok I have a factory deed but when I go out to place it I can't. It brings up the screen to place it but everywhere I try it, it's red. I'm standing in the middle of a wide open area, no critters or other obsticles. Does it need anything tied to it that I'm missing? Please help.

A factory deed works just like a harvester or house deed. Placing it can be rather hit or miss. Even if the area look wide open, there just may not be a place to put it there. Check for other player structures or spawned camps or lair (destroy these if you can).

Also, make sure you don't have a camp deployed, as this always messes up the buildable area surrounding it. And if all this doesn't work, you'll just have to move on to another location.

Hi,

I'm in the process of getting a factory built. Can anyone give me any information on runnuing a factory? Even costs associated: maintenance, power etc.. If there is a website or message board, please let me know. Also, can you share a factory with other players. I know they say u can share a house, but one person gets shafted on not being able to pick-up/leave anything.

Thanks

Factories are probably the easiest thing to share. I don't think there's anything you can't do if you're an admin to a factory that someone else owns.

I don't know everyone else's experience, but my factory is extremely easy power-wise. I put 500 power in, and it lasted me all week. Maintenance isa little rough, maybe 800-1000 a day.

There's a few things you should know about running your factory. The resources you put in the ingredient hopper must be the same exact type as the resources in the schematic. That means that any items you make that require component parts (i.e. power cores requiring generator turbines, power conditioners, and energy distributors) must have those parts from a factory crate. Don't expect them to be all that fast, either. I put enough resources into my factory for 100 structural modules, and it took a good hour for them to be assembled.

Did I miss anything?

Yes, the only thing you can do as an admin, is to load-ulnload schematics...no access to input or output hopper.

I created 3 schematics for droid or droid parts. The first one ran without a problem. The second and third keep shutting off after about 5 min. with no explanation, just that the factory shut down and nothing was made.

I checked the materials and names in the hopper and doubled checked. I have the right schematic loaded, I have enough power and maintence. I don't know what is preventing me from making more products.

Anyone have any input?

There's several threads on this. Factories are broken and the devs are working on a fix. No ETA.

i ran 100 structual mods fine. added a new schematic, started another run and it wouldnt work. i redeeded my factory, placed it down again, and it started working again. obviously thats not an efficient way of fixing it, but I wanted to see if it worked
