Thread: Another way this game fails

I'm sure you have all received the Star Wars Homing Beacon email that I got today. In it are these little snippets:



"For those who actually want to live out the action of the Star Wars universe, there's Star Wars Battlefront II, available on the same day. LucasArts' sequel to the smash hit Star Wars Battlefront adds all new space combat, playable Jedi characters, and never-before-seen environments straight out of Episode III to the hard-hitting action. "More Star Wars Fantasy Fulfillment in Battlefront II Just a few of the many opportunities you will have in Star Wars Battlefront II to utter the phrase, "I've always wanted to do tha..."


Now, when I first read these I thought to myself...."Isn't that what SWG is supposed to be." It is. If these statements weren't clearly labeled for Battlefront, I would have thought they were talking about SWG. Well, at least describing how they view the game, at least. We all know it is far from this.


The fact remains that Battlefront is being advertised as living the Star Wars Saga the way that we have all always wanted to...which means clearly that they don't think that SWG has been providing that already for the past 2 and half years they have been taking my money.

but does it have smuggler content? That's what most of us here want, not the ability to play jedi. I've seen the commercials... and while it does look nice I think I'll wait for the reviews to roll in.

No, and yes that is what we all want, obviously. My point being these are the exact same selling points that SOE use(d) for marketing SWG. So which is it? SWG, or Battlefront where you can "live the adventure"??


If they are marketing Battlefront in such a way that implies that no other game allows you to "live the saga" then what the hell do they think SWG is?


I see it as they have as much faith in this product asI do....little to none.
