Thread: Idea for smuggler vendors
If spices and sliced items cannot be sold on regular vendors, then we need a way to replace them. Else we will spend our playing hours spamming starports to hock spice. I suggest instead we get to install 'instance' vendors. Special vendors that only exist while we are online, or only until they fail a scan by a passing police patrol (imp/reb/corsec/whatever). These vendors could exist as pets in our datapad, much as faction troopers do now. They just need the special code to interact with players. If this was implemented only for spice and slicing tools, you'd not even need to create a vendor like interface... just a dialog offering items at the set prices.
There could even be a 'trade-off' risk. If the vendor is placed in a prominent position as the starport, there should be a likely chance the 'police' would detect and shut down the operation. This could carry a risk of some items being confiscated.
These hired 'pushers' seem to me a much more 'underworld' way to do business, and would fit with the character of the profession. At the least, please reconsider how we smugglers wish to spend our days online. Yet more spammers at the starport selling crap would do no good for the game as a whole.

YOOOOoooOOOO that is a super idea. what kind of self respecting pusher or arms dealer walks around times square YELLING that they have the goods. AS I UNDERSTAND it, pushers who have any hope of lastingverylong, have OTHER people dole out the goods.
Example: Timy the jedi knows that some oon is after him, so hes looking to get a boost to the mind. he walks up to a shaddy looking charecter and asks "hey doode, you got any blue?" " yep rigth here, lets se...." " Franky, franky, franky, when are you going to learn, you dont push this crap in my town! dont you even know you should at LEAST not do this in front of the largest starpor in the galxies? now where is you ID, any weapons..OH HOOH, lok what we got here!!!..better call the stormies, we got a major player here"

Example: Timy the jedi knows that some one is after him, so hes looking to get a boost to the mind. he walks up to a shaddy looking charecter and asks "hey doode, you got any blue?" " Errm, not sure what you mean, buddy!, but if you go over there, around the corner, you will see aBLUE haird rodian with the name of Bigels Big Ears, see, and if you tell him " Butterflys like soup", he just migth have what you ar...ahhh officer Mcblugeel Parsnip!, how is corsec treating you? I was telling this tourist the best place to go to have a bite to eat. You be off now son, watch that wallet, and make sure to tell Jillarndra I sent you by, she makes the BEST hubumba pie you ever tasted"
Now that sounds like fun!!! and infact they couldbase it off the same code/mechanic as the jedi trainers. Jedi trainers look like any old trainer, but if you give them the code word (this case being FS/finisied the pad trials) they give you the option of learing a forbbiden skill. the " Pick up" could look or even be a non discript tradesman/trainer or npc.
good idea man i like it...and it would make the role play aspect SOOOO much more intresting
Even though I'm a smuggler grinding up armorsmith and business 4 would help me... I still think it's a bad idea.
I do like the other parts though.
