I don't recommend Bria, that's for sure. Server is overcrowded and lags really bad, credits were duped or farmed by the CCF so everythings overpriced. I'm wondering if this revamp will allow previously force sensative characters to transfer servers... as I have a free transfer off Bria if that happens. A while back Bria spent an entire week crashing, and the only compensation we got was a free character transfer that nobody but the noobs could even use.

I transferred my main to Starsider. I am biased and won't give an opinion other than that I do not regret it. But, one thing to keep in mind about transfers is that you will more than likely loose any respecs you have. I had respec tokens left over from the CU and lost them when I transferred over. Keep this in mind when doing your planning.
The best advise I can give about choosing a server is to create 'junk' characters on your prospective targets. Go to the hot spots to see how many are on at your typical play times. It's usually the same spots on every server for entertainers and grind groups etc. Go do a recon no matter what other advice you get.

My main character on Gorath is a CL1Master Tailor/ Master Architect...so when the NGE hits, I'll only be able to respec to Trader or Entertainer. I think it sucks, but I guess that's just the way it is.
My Smuggler character was on an alt account that has been canceled. I don't really feel the need to pay for two accounts anymore, so I'm going to start a new character on a different server and roll a new Smuggler from scratch. Any suggestions for which server I should go for with a Smuggler?
I'll likely be starting several new characters on a lot of differentservers. Definitely want to play a Spy, Officer and Commando - and I may even try out a Jedi. Just wondering if there was one specific server that has a lot of active Smugglers playing.

It has its downsides, but TC is actually a pretty nice galaxy. They actually live in the player cities there, rather than squares in front of starports.
Many a moon ago, I left Eclipse, and started anew on Starsider. It was a great change for me. One of the more interesting things, it was the unnofficial Euro server before the Euro servers came out, so there's quite a few folks from across the pond on there, makes things more flavorful.
However, I would warn you that at times, the drama-factor can be overwhelming there. I mean seriously unbelievable. And if you're looking for RP, it's great, but some of the folks get a little carried away with the "rules."
I spent probably a year and a half on Starsider. I'm back on Eclipse now, with a new toon, starting over again. You can only do so much on one server. During my time on it, which was quite a while ago, Eclipse was always a solidly balanced server. It never came off as heavy handed in either RP or PVP. And it's always been populated, and is typically very stable.
Some of the smaller servers though, have AMAZING RP communities if that's what you're looking for.
