Message Edited by NickHeel on 10-08-2005 06:54 PM
Wow, the old guard is really going.
The people who fought the good fights have moved on and lost interest or just given up in frustration. Nice going SOE. You had a great community here and now its....just a forum![]()
/offer beer
/deepbow to all the old guard

Hello,
I was once called a community leader. Someone who could answer questions, provide feedback, offer criticism, and rally the troops. I took much pride in that andI did my best to excel and help the community. Those days are over.
From now on, I will not fight for this community nor will I work for it at all. It's obvious to me that doing so only causes me more grief than I already get and it doesn't do any good for the community anyway. From now on, my sole purpose in this forum is to post in off topic threads and just say if I like something or not. Providing worthwhile feedback or criticism is a dead art to this forum now and I refuse to be the old fart getting loud and awnry like the crazy old coot he probably has become.
Thanks to the old guard of Caylin, EN, Solo4114, Dreven, Geevo, JTG, Arashi, Fish, Ternque, Zane, Nick_Frost, Yimaz, Veela, Tomo, ect. I respect all of you tremendously. It's too bad almost all of us had to end up like this.
- Captain N'Joh Sonik, Ret. N
I am a new smuggler, who picked up the profession (on the way to jedi) because it looked like it had some pretty cool "extra" abilities and because, well, I've always wanted to be Han Solo. Your voice, among many others on these forums, convinced me the the smuggler profession was one worth sticking with, one that should be, that could be, the primary reason to play this game. it is through the posts of the "old-timers" on this board that I realized that I wanted to play a Star Wars SMUGGLER, and not just be another jedi. Having read through all the sticked posts, I realize how frustrating this experience has to have been for all of you, and I respectthe determination that you have all shown. I really don't have anything else to say, except:
/salute

All this because people disagreed with your Commando thread?
Close but not exactly.
Threads like that used to challenge the community and get it riled up to take action. But all it got was a lot of passive posts, disagreement posts, and a 24 hour ban.
Which that's fine. Things change and that's the way the world turns.

yikes didn't know you got a ban for that. Honestly I hadn't read the entire thing. I read the first page and saw its direction and stopped. I've loved what Smuggler should be for so long right now that personally, any step toward fixing the game in my eyes is a step toward a Smuggler Revamp because it means they're thinking of improvements. With something so blatant as not being able to Smuggle with a SMUGGLING profession, you'd think we're on the list somewhere.
I totally understand your sentiment. I'm sorry the general attitude lately has let you down.
While I had one or two issues with the thread you are referring to, you have definatelya point. This forum is dead. The Smugglers have given up the fight. We have 20 pages in our "Hey SOE"-thread while the Smuggler revamp isstill "in concept", for what´s its worth.Still, all is quiet here. Other professions get revamps or at least an "in development" thread, and all we do is cheer for the CH, SL, Rangers and Commandos.
All the while, the only reaction we get is a request from the devs to Wes to bump our question thread. I am so tired. Where is the <cancel> button?
