I humbly request that all current correspondents resign in protest. Your continued service, albeit only for another 12 days in most cases, suggests you are endorsing their plans. Please stand with the vast majority of SWG's players are vehemetly against this /deathblow to SWG.

I would like to know when the correspondents were told of this monstriosity. If you knew in advance, NDA or no, and didn't tell the players I would be very disappointed. SOE acted very deceptively in connection with the release of ToOW and this MEGA nerf and you have no moral obligation to keep their plans a secret.

1. Many have already. Many are staying, at least until it's all done to continue to serve the community. Many are making this distinction. They're staying for *us*.

2. They found out yesterday. That is, those who were in Austin. Some of them found out about it today.

Ourcontinued service does NOT suggest that we are endorsing their plans. It simply suggests that we still care enough about the game and our professions to continue to represent the players as much as we can possibly do so.

And to answer your question, the majority of the correspondents were told of this "monstrosity" when we read the information posted by the Brawler Correspondent in the Test Center forum just like everyone else. There were approximately 5 correspondents out of the 30+ that were given an invitation to Austin to test out the new changes. We did not know in advance, and we are still learning information at the same rate and in the same fashion as every other player in these forums.

Contrary to what seems to be popular belief, correspondents rarely know anything that the regular players don't. Correspondents serve as conduits of information from the player-base of our areas to the development team. The information doesn't usually flow in both directions. I can, for example, submit a proposal for review and will learn the answer to it when something shows up in the dev tracker.

Personally, I agree that there was some serious deception going on with the timing of this information release. Regardless, a resignation from all of the correspondents would do nothing but slow the tide of information from the players to the developers. It may not be very effective as it is, but it's better than nothing at all.

I announced my stepping down due to time contraints in my personal life long prior to learning of these changes, but have been sticking around and continuing to do my job because I feel it is important to present player views and ideas in the most contructive and caring way possible. At a time like this I'd figure that we'd all want our views and ideas to presented the best way possible, not the most confrontational way possible.

I appreciate the correspondentstaking the time to replymy thread. I am sure you all are very busy.

Communicating with Devs at this point in terms of the MEGA NERF is like communicating with your executioner regarding the wherefores exactly where the axe will first strike the back of your neck, or what type of metal is blade is made of.

They have announced their intent to destroy the game. Faciliting communication with them only helps them acheive their evil end. Resign. Why make their lives any easier?

I am also very gald indeed to learn you all weren't told in advance.

One of the things that has me pretty worried is what seems to be the gutting of the pretty amazing crafting system and the player based economy that SWG touted when this game went live. Since I'm pretty sure now that not a single Dev actually plays a non-combat toon, I guess I don't know exactly where this is headed, but it doesn't look promising. Since Both Ill and Kristen are non-combat Corrs, can you guys at least tell me what the heck happened for SOE to apparently gut the economy and crafting system this way with no notice? I'm totally confused.

The NGE, a sad end to a great game!

The crafting system itself has not changed. The resources stay the same, the interface is the same, the schematics that currently exist will still exist within the new specializations.

What has changed with Trader is how the crafting professions are organized. The Trader class is split into 4 specializations:

  • Muntions -- Armorsmith, Weaponsmith, Artisan, Merchant

  • Structures -- Architect, Artisan, Merchant

  • Domestic -- Tailor, Chef, Artisan, Merchant

  • Engineering -- Droid Engineer, Shipwright, Artisan, Merchant

We'll know more about the specifics when the changes go to Test Center today.
