Thread: We're a small, vocal minority, eh?

This guy cracks me up. I don't think you can be further from reality. From Smedley's latest interview:

"It's mixed. It's very positive [feedback] from the people who are actually playing it. And we also have the expected push back from the people who haven't actually logged in to try it," says Smedley. "Once people get in there, it's overwhelmingly positive. It's the "the sky is falling" crowd on the forums that's still going to take some converting. I understand that. These are big changes."

So everyone who plays says nothing but positive things, and the only people complaining haven't played yet? Hahahahahahahaha, what world is this guy living in?

"Despite some of the rhetoric coming from the existing player base, we've not noticed any rise in people canceling their subscriptions. It's just a very small, very vocal minority."

So, our concerns are nothing more than "rhetoric", huh? How come everyone I know, and have known for the last 2+ years, is cancelling their account?

This game sucks balls now.

Seriously I just played the free trial of wow and had ALOT more fun playing it than playing the "NGE."

And WoW doesn't even lag for me like SWG does at times.

True and even a smaller minority that chooses to do so at the completely wrong places in completely wrong ways.

I can fully understand how no one, especially an executive, can take stuff like that seriously.

And i even met ppl who never visit these boards. They were absolutly shocked hearing the news about the new changes. lol i even met ppl saying "ok i check the boards and if that is really true i will cancel asap afterwards"

Not to forget the only positiv feedback i heard from was most of the time "WOW HanSolo was cool" ... great lets see how many ppl will pay monthly subscription fees for seeing HanSolo in a tutorial

Not to forget they don't even disappointed their costumer base they made them really angry yes some ppl nearly freaked out so these ppl will spread as much bad things about $OE as possible ... and that will also cost new costumers. For example in most big guilds new ppl post before starting a new game asking if it is good. Now they will get tons of bad SOE stories ... deadly ...

The "small minority" will break their neck i am sure and i am so happy looking forward to see swg vanish in meaninglessness

This guys actually right tho...

You guys all hate it, so your out looking for people who hate it. And you find a few, and read the boards and see a few hate posts... and suddenly act like everyone hates it. But as a day one vet... I have seen several people restart their accounts becuase of these changes, and seen many vets be very happy with these changes. All of these people are day one or close vets. Now obviouslly its a small group and dosnt mean anything... but I understand that. What Im saying is, you guys are takeing an equally small group and saying "See... everyone hates it".

Heres a news flash... many of the people saying they are cancelling on the boards........were the same people saying the same thing 5 months ago durring the CU. Probly 30% of people who say they are cancelling, actually do... and even if they all do, when were talking about 150-200k subscribers its going to end up being a very small percentage of overall players quiting. Hell if everyone on these boards quit, it would probly be about 3-5% of the player base... not exactlly staggering numbers.

And DustusNavar you also miss quoted him... he said its "Overwhelmingly Positive" and even said "Its mixed" and the beggining. But yet you say..."So everyone who plays says nothing but positive things". Overwhelmingly positive does not mean EVERYONE says good things... just that the majority do. Which, after spending about 25-30 hours on TC so far... I have to agree with him. On the TC's its totally diffrent then it is on the boards. Sure, there are some who hate it on the TCs, but there are a lot more who like it. The very vocal minority statement is correct. Thoes who like it... really have nothing to post about. They like it, there happy, no need ot complain. But people who hate it are doing nothing but non stop complaining... so thats all you see. They are vocal while thoes who enjoy it are very quiet. Now people qho hate it do not like to face that fact... trust me I know. I hated the CU and complained till the very end about it, and always throught that I was the majority. Then I came to realize that I wasn't... and that most people liked it.

Of course people will hate these changes. And some will even quit over them as they are very drastic... but these changes had to be made. The game was unbalanced, full of exploits, AFK leveling, and about a hundred other things that will be taken care of with these changes. Lets also not forget that the game has been out for over two years... a lot of MMORPG players dont play games that long. So its expected that veteran players will be dropping, with or without the changes. You happen to have a crew of players who hate the changes, sorry to hear that. But just becuase everyone YOU know, or claim to anyway, hate it... does not mean thats the majority. Trust me at least when I say... SOE shows that for them its all about money. If they did something that caused a massive drp in subscriptions youd see a HUGE turn around... a turn around that there is no sign of.

What proofs you wrong is the fact that most server look more and more empty the last few month. Yes there were even galaxy merges. No one hanging out at Coronet at a saturday afternoon or lot of guilds looking desperatly for new members beeing some month ago guilds with long waiting lists and that.

You can do quests without seeing any competition and even "Jedi Town" was sometimes not welll visisted anymore.

So and now even more (much more) ppl say goodbye on these boards (not to mention ppl who don't care about this board) - you really think that makes a turn around? Yah ok if you need something to believe in ... good luck. SOE won't tell you the opposite until the whole $hit will cut down completly someday (and for sure they won't care about you then )
