Thread: Do you log in from someplace out of the norm?
Not sure if Johannesburg (South Africa), Cairo (Egypt) and Istanbul (Turkey) count but Ive logged in and played from all. I'm currently in Jo'burg and the connection is fine ![]()
Played for 2 years but dont spend too much time whining on the forums, rather get on with it or get out of it (in case you were wondering about low post count) ![]()
Been playing for about 2 years now, been playing from Sydney, Australia the whole time ![]()
It was hard getting this game imported tho! Damn! Release the game in australia dammit! well worth the trouble ![]()

if you just got hit with "rockets" i doubt you would be laughing. dont make up lies so you can feel special..
I am about to pack up my laptop to go log in from my Assembly Programming Class.
Its risky cuz we only have 7 people in the class, but ill just keep my left hand in the alt-tab position with the backupnotes.txt file ready for action.
also, ^ I dont think he was lying I think he just was laughing at the irony of the situation. Plus, its better to laugh at your troubles than to let them worry you.

As a sailor who spent four years on subs, until they develop some type of underwater modem, playing SWG ain't going to happen. Now if a solo version were to exist, now that would be a nice holdover.
That would be AWESOME! I'm a sub guy myself, and going back to subs after i finish my degree! That would make those 2.5months submerged go by a lot quicker.
And to the guy who said it was agains the rules to use a government network for personal games, there are always exceptions, and there is not just one type of government network.
I did log on while sitting in port once, horrible connection, no way playable, but I was actually on the boat, using my cell phone to connect.

Stationed out of New London by chance? only asking because i live in CT lol and know we are the submarine capitol of the world.
maybe not out of the norm but during august of 2004, looged in from my cellphone for 45 minutes at a time on my laptop after hurricane charlie went through my town. I had no power or phone service but I needed my SWG fix...juat kept on charging my cell and laptop from a generator.
Now my best log in time was at work o
I do all my vendor management at work...
When i get home though, its all fun and games, nothing about vendors lol, sometimes i will even hook up with a good AOE group and grind while i am doing some programming, just have someone send me a /tell when they move to the next lair. And my boss... well, he plays too, so does another programmer at work, sometimes we will even stay over and go out hunting lol.
I've played on my laptop from Campus at UT a few times while waiting for someone, a class or something of the sort. It's not all the entertaining but it's somewhere other than in front of my desktop in the privacy of my own home. I would do it more often but it just doesn't run as well on my laptop

Near Dusk I can see Kangaroos on our property through the back window while playing Galaxies. I dont think many would have such bueatiful scenary while playing.
Eucalyptus Tree's, Roos (even though the destroy my lawn), outback roads, BBQ dinners, kookaburras ( a laughing bird ) and the best sunsets in the world All before logging in - It just dont get any better. and if ya like ya Golf, 5 minute walk down the back to my own private 9 hole golf course on my property. Also 2 dams and a creek to fish in and get yabbies (small crustaceans shrimp i think they call em in the US). someone remind me again why i bother to login hehe
