MsNiL,

Whether the issue list was "hidden" in the FAQ (the first place you're SUPPOSED to look) or not, the fact remains that you came here asking about issues and ignoring the biggest one.

Past posts, and even current ones, show that you're not all that interested in listening to what the problems are, more about what suits you.

Smuggling is THE biggest function problem for us.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Again, this is outright DISHONESTY

MsNiL, you quite clearly do NOT care about Smugglers:

"Wow. You really have it rough dont you?"

"I am starting to be really annoyed with the Smuggler's whining for content"

"Smuggler end up as one of the most playable and dev-loved professions in the game..."

"The only broken issues with Smuggler is that indirectly Overwhelming Shot arent as useful since states are weak... and then they cant stack their loot

"Devs flirt alot with the smugglers now"

"Smuggler is, together with Swordman, the most working profession in the game"

"You should be happy becouse you play one of the most working professions in the game right now"

Quite simply, your ignorance is STAGGERING and BELIES BELIEF.

Now toddle off back to your Jedi boards and allow us to grieve in peace.

[edit, can't get the effen HTML to work. You even try to deny the statements, I edit with the links restored]

Just look at the track record. Jedis seems to be the primary concern of the Devs. Smugglers and Rangers, those two profession that certain deserves a revamp, are probably at the bottom. Just sad.

I summon a list of bugs and broken abilities. I believe pup and bio-linked slices work now, but besides that all bugs and issues from the official smuggler list is added.

That doesnt mean I do not care about your missed role.

You see my list. If that one wouldnt exist... smuggler would have their missions a long time ago. Every single publish contains up to 90% of bugfixes on already available stuff, and very little content. We have balance fixes/nerfs on already bugged professions, making them crawl even more, causing fotm templates, making them nerfed... nerfs nerfs... bugs bugs... exploits exploits... and more than 50% broken professions....
The way I see it, this game can never be brought forward as long as SoE accept they must hire more people and make sure thoose things are adressed. While a software is doomed to have bugs (I do not deny that), pushing the game live with bugs like the commando area bug or the /3 damage forcombo hit "bug", and then keep thoose bugs online for four months is unacceptable.

I have said it before and I say it again: I accept the Smuggler Revamp as the first new content that should be added in the game. That should have happened before Aurilia, it should have happened before JTL, it should have happened before the Combat Upgrade and it should have happened before Kashyyyk. So do not believe that I deny your right to feel bad about the lies and broken promises.

For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Your list is named "Issues" ie not just bugs and broken abilities, but 'issues' ie, in the context of professions, concerns raised by aforementioned professions, but you omit:

  • Lack of profession-defining content

  • ConcussionShot asdazevulnerable to the /duel exploit

  • PanicShot as a daze vulnerable to the /duel exploit

And yet you still expect to be taken seriously as a commentator on the Smuggler profession??

I repeat:

  • "Wow. You really have it rough dont you?"

  • "I am starting to be really annoyed with the Smuggler's whining for content"

  • "Smuggler end up as one of the most playable and dev-loved professions in the game..."

  • "The only broken issues with Smuggler is that indirectly Overwhelming Shot arent as useful since states are weak... and then they cant stack their loot

  • "Devs flirt alot with the smugglers now"

  • "Smuggler is, together with Swordman, the most working profession in the game"

  • "You should be happy becouse you play one of the most working professions in the game right now"

"It's a call for action to adress the unbalance that decays this game more and more each day. Keeping things broken and unbalanced in game pollutesdiversity, creating unbalanced fotm templates. Theese templates make the game repeating and less exciting when everybody plays the same. It also destroys the fun for thoose who go for what they want to play rather than the latest powerful fotm template."

I am speaking strictly in terms of in the game but broken, and please fix in the next publish.

I have had many dreams since I started this game. Seeing the smuggler missions where one of them. However... My dreams of added features have started to decay down to the level where I no longer dream about a future, but keep clicking refresh on the In_Testing dev board to see if any of the major hoard of bugs is fixed today. If I should be honest, I believe the devs are more or less incapable of creating a fun game, becouse they do not know how to do it. They can barely get the combat engine to work, and how often do you see that happen in a hack-n-slash rpg (which this game have grown into).

I could probably write you a page about why "Commando" role in this game is severly missfired and missing at this moment, both through missing missions, lack of tactics and military warfare. They cant sneak. They cant hide. They cant camouflage. They cannot speak extra languages. They are whimps. They cant use a knife. They have no squad/teamwork abilities. They cannot set up charges. They do not have sniperweapons. They have no wilderness capabilities. They cannot set up camps. They have no improved speed, no terrain negotiation. They cannot deactivate and steal mines from a minefield.

I could give you a page about why "Ranger" are the worst possible profession to bring when it's time to do big-game hunting. Why they cannot use poisons. Why they have no generalaccuracy or speed. Why they have no defenses. Why they cannot hide in the wilderness. Why a "Trap Master" cant trap a high level critter. Why a Ranger pvp'ing in the wilderness is like an artisan playing in a snakepit. Why all professions can easily pick up Krayt Dragon Scales without a single point in scout. Why foraging never ever gives you something even remotely close to what you can get from food or spice.

I could give you a page about why "Light Jedi" earn experience through murder. Why the greatest Light Jedi is a strong soldier, not a wise scholar. Why they can pick up Lightning Strike and use it at will without any change of alignment. Why they have to be in the Galactic Civil War when everybody knows it was only Luke and Obi-Wan who where in the GCW. Why killing another human being in Theed grant a Light Jedi a greater rank and touch with the force, than searching for lost knowledge and wisdom, and protecting peace and order throughout the galaxy.

And I wonder, where are our "Droid Engineers" who are supposed to produce all thoose droids we remember from the movies?

I have lots of concerns like that. But I have completely lost all faith in asking for new systems and improvements. SoE just do not seem to care to hire enough manpower to continue this game. We cant even say we reached v1.0 of this game yet, and it have been 2 years.

Ha!

And now Smuggler has magically jumped from a single# on your Issue list to #####################

I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted. Hell, screw it, this game has insulted me enough over the last two years so I'll take some flattery, be it intended or not

Well, MsNiL, I respect your integrity in editing your list to reflect this dialogue. I hope it gets something changed so I can reactivate my account someday

I told you I where serious about the list. I just lacked a good list of smuggler issues. The list started as a combat profession list, but since smugglers are semi-artisans I forgot about the slices and spices. Wes replied my mail today and it allowed me to complete the list. The thread got a visit by Ackehece (Rifleman correspondant too) so the rifleman bar have jumped up a bit. I have a great interest in game systems... I sometimes find them more exciting than actually playing the game.

As I said from the beginning, states affect this list alot. Bounty Hunter and Lightsaber have access to Bleed, Blind, Dizzy and Stun. That's four points for both. Also a profession that have many good abilities may appear more worthless becouse it have more to be broken (such as Combat Medic). So take the "list" with a grain of salt.

I might rework the list later on into something more monitorable. Unless I decide to quit myself (I havnt been online for two weeks now) I will probably keep it updated. Writing that list and hanging on the forum is more fun than playing the game today IMO.

Sadly I doubt it will lead to something. Theonly attention I expect isthatGarva walks by and delete it for "conspiracy against soe" or something like that. The devs havent listened to the players for 2 years and I doubt they will start now.

It's ok. I started a fight with Unika and that ended by saying things I shouldnt have said. We have cleared everything up through mail and she(he?) made me understand more about what was going on. Since I started this list I have learn ALOT about the game, and the situation some professions are living with. The worst part is that I am growing more and more depressed the deeper I dig.

Welcome to the cynical side of this game, when you work and work at trying to make things better just to find out that your hands are tied and noone that can actually implement these ideas seem to give a rusty f**k. Just some of the stickies about the past of the smugglers from the dev posts should help you understand what we, as smugglers, are going though. We have wasted enough breath and have more or less resigned to the fact that after all the empty promises, we will never see anything come out of our fruitless endeavors to make this game better. The only thing we can hold onto is our personalities and our comraderie within the smuggler community, which is kinda like a family....we can beat on eachother and poke fun, but we turn rather unmercifully on outsiders when they attempt to interject to us how we feel. Your intentions here are admirable, but with your digging and prodding you should know by now that we can beg, plead, kiss a**, coddle, yell, scream, cuss and threaten....and we still end up holding the s**t end of the stick. Go figure.

It is a pathetic disgrace that Smuggling was promised over 2 years ago and we have gotten NOTHING.
