Has anyone tried using our specials with melee, fists? Is it as viable as using a pistol, or did they just throw it in?

The issued "uniform" is kind of crap, in my opinion. I don't want to be Han Solo, I don't want to look like Han Solo. I also don't want to look like every other person who happens to share my class and level. I hope this doesn't become like WoW where everyone of the same general level is wearing the same stuff because it's the only viable alternative at a given level.

Well, the nooby DL44 blaster you get only has a damage stat of 3-10 so right now using fists is pretty much the same as using the blaster except that the blaster obviously gives you range.

I'm guessing (hoping) that our normal weapons we currently have on live will stay with roughly the same damage so in that case to be as good at melee you'd have to be using a knuckler or other melee weapon to match the power of your blaster.

On a plus side there doesn't appear to be specific weapons that profressions are stuck too anymore. You can pick up a rifle and be just as proficient in it as you are a sword or a pistol. That being said, I'm willing to bet some weapons will still have a profression req on them though. I.E. Proton Carbines will stll likely be certed to MBH.

As for wearing the "Smuggler Uniform" ... each piece of clothing only adds 1 to agility and precision, its a noticable mod for a nooby but for an experienced player you can make up for not having these via other skill tapes and mods. In other words, the Smuggler uniform helps out nooby players but is pretty worthless for an experienced player.

lol wow i didn't realize that it gave us anything i made a cool looking costume that wasn't at all han solo

NGE is here and we're still just 'Rs'.
