I was slicing my friend's two Comp Suits that he just bought. Everything was going ok. Package them back up and trade. He looks over them. He then says, "Nothing changed on this item". I was telling him he got an increased in resistance. He said no it didn't. So I thought that was very odd. He said it was 80/70 suit and it still is 80/70. So I look it over and sure enough its 80/70. So I am amazed as to what could have happened. Well I look at his armor in the trade window again. I then noticed the item name Composite Helm 80/60!! I about flipped him across the room.

I have a great story, this just happened.
I got home from school, and to my surprise, there is a red name in the forum. Turns out that there IS actually a dev that plays as a Smuggler (note the "S"), so he posted here to introduce himself. Tiggs posted, along with this new guy. 2 red names posting in the Smuggler forum in under 10 minutes? Impossible. But, sadly, neither of the reds were GreenMarine.
So there's my logic-defying story.

I'm standing in cnet talking with a couple friends after a night of PvP. aguy comes up wearing the newb artisan clothes and starts spamming "i need ore". No one has any ore to give him, but he apparently does not understand this. so just to shut him up I tip the guy 30k and say "go check the vendors to the south, there's plenty of resources there. I'm sure you can find what you need. let me know if u need any other help."
newb keeps spamming
then he turns to me and says "hey rogue, u got ore?"
/sigh me: buddy, i just tipped u 30k to go buy yourself some ore
pause while newb checks his spatial
newb: oh yeah i missed that, thx
me: no problem, the vendors are to the south, just head that way. (one of my friends, admist his laughing, points south)
newb: ok thx
he turns around and runs off to the north...
my friends and i laughed and i thought i would share it with u guys

Was getting healed and well was kinda low on credits (buying grinding pistols, kits, clamps, etc..) so tipped what I could and offered to slice my medic's lance.
Explained what slicing meant and the basics about it being random. She traded and I got one of my lowest slices ever.. a 11% speed slice. Took 0.8 off the speed. But she said "Still 11% better than what I had".
Had a few others react the same way :-) Maybe now we are getting the nice newbies since those looking for uber loot are moving to other games. Course I did get a few that were a bit demanding, no need for add ignore.. just sent them packing to others. I slice on my terms, besides my idiot/annoyance tax is 125k per %... if they want to pay that... the server gods can have my first born if I can get all max slices :-)
And for the record, I'm not wearing any titles... after all smugglers are supposed to keep a low profile folks :-P
Bad Newbie "Can you slice weapons"
Me "Yes"
* bad newbie wants to trade
Me "hmm? Presents for me? "
Bad Newbie "No, slice my stuff"
Me "I slice on my terms. And we have not talked about them."
Bad Newbie "Just slice them."
Me "Uh nope. Have a nice day, and do not lick stormies."
* Bad Newbie has challenged you to a duel
Me "Sorry I don't duel."
Bad Newbie starts walking off
*Accepts duel
*Healthshot1
*Healthshot2
*end duel
Gave him a going away present

Mastered smuggler a couple months ago, and took a break from the game for about a month..so no real stories as of yet. Aside from the normal " Can you guarantee a speed slice " questions which prompted by bio..which is now my sig.
Read all the stories (all 60 pages..read for 6 hours nonstop) on here and just wanted to great job. and wanted to share a couple changed Ive made when slicing.
My price (7k) is non negotiable.
When I do my slice spam(which is rare) it goes somthing like
" Slicing, 7k per slice results are random, Do not bank tip. do not tip. payme in the trade window..failure topay will result in deletion of your items"
though I may just refer them to the bio now
Also had a failed attempt at rping selling muon
every few minutes a threw out a post for my shop
" Looking for Muon by the crate? Whats wrong with you? that craps illegal!Come to my shop and buy my Muon Gold " self help" package and all your muon trouble will be solved My shop is located at -283 -5596 barely 900m from coronet starport"
didn't work lol nobody like muon? forgive the shameless plug..gotta sell muon
Anyways..thanks for the stories guys...keep em commin

guy: hi, are you a smuggler?
me: hi, are you a cop?
guy: nope, just an innocent bystander.
me: well then, what can i do for you.
we get the details worked out and i actually get some decent slices. a 27 speed on a gaderiffi baton and some other good speed and damage on his friends vibro axe and lance. they're happy.
tip 10k
me: wow, thanks!
guy: do you want some fish?
me: i don't know, do i like fish?
guy: ???
me: what do fish do for me?
guy: make great decorations.
me: ok, sure, i need something for that one blank wall.
guy: *trades me 6 fish*
me: wow! thanks!
i had no idea you could be tipped in fish for good slices.
So I guess you could have said to them..SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH! sorry it had to be said

I feel bad now because when I got containers, I just put them on the bazzar. I had no idea they were only basically useful for lvling smuggler.(my own noobish confession)
If any leveling smugglers sees my character, /tell me, and if I have containers, I'll give them to you.
::EDIT::And just finished reading this threaad. GREATEST THREAD EVER!!!

Chuckle number: 1500
I am in Coronet and doesnt suspect anything evil.
Random Guy tells you: Do you sell FP?
Me: Shure, it is 140/FP.
RG: How much for 5000?
(Great. Mathematical delayed...)
Me: That would be 700.000
RG: Hmmm... How much for 10000?
(Me staring in absolut disbelieve at the screen.)
Me walks slowly away...

If you really want to surprise people, when you hang out in cities, slicing or yucking it up in cantinas, always have only your secondaries buffed, When an unbuffed guy starts trouble, and types the magic /duel, he'll be surprised at your resilience
