In Theed hotel for a buff when get asked to slice a pike. Tell him my fee is flat 5k and we trade. I just pull the MC & WUK when I see him say - I am really hoping for a damage slice. I scream NOOO and explain that our Gods look badly on such utterings. I suggest he offers up a prayer and repents for being a fool. He gamely starts "oh lord - what an idiot I am" etc - lo and behold 28% damage slice. I tell him the good news and he pays me double. My only other piece of advice - play some Lugjack looks like your lucky day.

had a fun slicing experience the other night.
guy: hi, are you a smuggler?
me: hi, are you a cop?
guy: nope, just an innocent bystander.
me: well then, what can i do for you.
we get the details worked out and i actually get some decent slices. a 27 speed on a gaderiffi baton and some other good speed and damage on his friends vibro axe and lance. they're happy.
tip 10k
me: wow, thanks!
guy: do you want some fish?
me: i don't know, do i like fish?
guy: ???
me: what do fish do for me?
guy: make great decorations.
me: ok, sure, i need something for that one blank wall.
guy: *trades me 6 fish*
me: wow! thanks!
i had no idea you could be tipped in fish for good slices.

you were probably dealing with a Ranger. We have more fish than credits. (or at least those of us who never sell organics for more than 20cpu do)

I had a real Scoundrel moment the other day:
Guys PM's me asking if I am a master smuggler.
Me: Depends on whose asking
Him: A guy who will pay money for a slice
Me: I'm listening.
Him: I will give you 5k per slice.
Me: (yes setting price instead of asking is going to endure me to you but I will play along): I usually charge 10k per slice and I do not have tools to do armor (I just got a mind buff, maybe he will leave me alone now)
Him: It's just four weapons.
Me: Okay, I will do all four for 35k. Meet me a the shuttle by the Cnet cantina
Him: Okay
We trade, I slice three items and low and behold one won't slice. Surprise, it says in the examine window it has already been sliced. So I am faced with a dilema, tell him since he has been a fairly nice guy, or be the Scoundrel and take advantage of his stupidity?
Me: Here ya go. 35k please.
I have no sympathy for stupid people. Slicing not has been on weapons for months now. Besides he wanted to pay me under half my usual price. So I came out ahead of my usual price. All's fair in love, war, and smuggling.

I gave you 5 stars, Chavabegga, just because your signature had "Do you have a flag?" in it. Gotta love British Humor, and because that was a very evil moment, good job.

If you slice glasses, do they then become bi-focals?

Finally! Read it all!
Reading that thread strangely have been what pushed me to pick up Smuggler and (since yesterday!) Mastering it.
So, today, still all high from the mastering smuggler rush, I realised that my PSG was not sliced. So I grabbed a AUK , knives and a Mol clamp when a feeling of dread came over me, remembering a story here about someone slicing a PSG for encumberance. I hesitated, remembering the old advice "do NOT slice your own stuff", but I decided to do it anyway.
So I do my slicing... I saw the percentage, my first ever 35%.....you guess it, encumberance.
Oh Slicing Gods, I will atone and never slice my own stuff again.

LW, you seem familiar, did you ever frequent the RP forums before the game went live and they were wiped?

Yes, under the nick LaughingWolf. Was part of the NWW (still am) I think I have been active on only two RP threads tho. I am trying to remember the nick of the threads starters. And I have been active as a cheering fan on a "Novel" thread, can't remember the title either, was a great story to read, always was looking for updates on that thread. Been a few years! Memory not cooperating tonight. Must be getting old rflmao
I was on the General board before the split (where a "General Star Wars" and a "GAT" were created), so if you saw me on the RP forum, it was about that time. I was a little active too at the same period on the Dev board.
Ok, to have a wee bit of on topicness on this post:
Yesterday I had a great slicing evening. A guy asked me to slice 13 weapons for him, accepting my 5k/slice price without blinking. We chat, I slice, guy even say when I get a 19% slice "Yeah, I know it is random, nothing you can do". We finish, then I get another tell, from another guy who wanted his armor sliced. When he arrived I noticed they were from the same PA. So all in all, with a few small sliced, turned out to be a good evening, made around 100k.
Then today, I got a very polite demand if I could slice a weapon. I answer sure, give him my price, tell him I am on my way to Cnet cantina so to meet me there. The guy then tell me "I am new, I have only 2k on me". So I ask him what is the weapon and it is a DH17 carbine. I love to help polite interesting new players, so I told him to meet me at the cantina and I would do the job for free "but to hush up about it, don't go ruining my reputation!" lol He promised, very happy. When I met him, I did an examine on him: not guilded, no badges, nothing. So I sliced his weapon, teached him some languages. I gave him a little cash (he didn't begged, and I was feeling generous with the good evening I had the day before hehe), for wich he was very grateful.
Later, I ran into him killing mobs around Coronet and being badly injured, so I healed him up , got another thanks , and I went on my merry way to kill some Imps, feeling very pleased with myself. Might not be the most "smugglery" action, but everyone have a weak spot, and mine is (as with most NWW members lol) helping new players.
Will try to have more funny stuff next time, but what can I say, only had good customers so far lol
