Thread: What good is a Bothan Rifleman?
uhhh... well... you are short?
the thing that makes me sad, is that the species that aer supposed to specialize in mind secondaries, zabrak and mon cal, get 200less max to their supposively andvantageous pools, and the humans can do this to any pool, so they could essentially be running around with 1k mind and 1.1k will/focus
and that makes me a sad zabrak.
i'm a rodian 4/3/3/3 rifleman. my mind stats right now are 850/500/500. I do ok as long as I don't spam the t21 specials.
I rotate about 8 guns in my repertoire. 3 T21's (2 are speed sliced, each with a different powerup), Laser Rifle, DLT20a, E11, Jawa Advanced, and my Spraystick. I use every gun on a regular basis. My 3 T21's use different powerups: 32max/16min dmg on the dmg sliced gun, 32spd/16mind, & 32mind/16pd on the other 2. May laser is dmg sliced and a use a 32spd/16mind powerup on that gun. All my other guns are speed sliced and I use different powerups based on the situation I am going into.
one thing you didn't mention is where you were in terms of skill trees. I found in the beginning stage of novice, after I got conceal shot, that I would "take cover" and use my slowest t21 to conceal shot while soloing, it's slow, but effective. In groups I used my t21's as my opening move, then switch to my e11, dlt20, or jawa as MOB vulnerablities permitted and spammed the specials from there. Depending on the group the specials would range from overcharge to mind shot/head shot combos.
It has been slow for me and I don't PVP unless I'm buffed or in a raid with a large group. Basically, my advice is this: use your rifles to your advantage don't get caught up in the "have to always use my t21" mentality.

Welcome my brother. As dimm dimm said up there our only real advantage in the rifleman tree is that the gun is 2/3rds our height, which isn't really an advantage just something strange and funny at the same time. However, with the soon to be species recast we're getting better stats in the mind department. Really our race just isn't the optimal one for rifleman. Human is the best for everything because the dev's apparently don't like aliens. We are the smartest critters out there, slicers and spies, politicians and assasains. Yet we have some of the lowest mind stats.
The only thing I can suggest is befriend a few musicians and dancers and get a good movie to watch when your waiting for the regen. I like to pop in Ferris Bueller or Office Space. Might go Monty Python soon though.
