Im starting a new character with the aim of becoming a PvP rifleman in full composite armour.

Just wondering if anyone has advice on which race to choose?

I think the obvious choices are human or mon cal, but do you think humans will get a nerf to their stat migration, and if so, do you think the better choice then is mon cal?

I would also consider other races if Ive overlooked something, but Ive been playing a master rifleman twi'lek for ages now and am very frustrated with the 500 cap to focus and willpower (and the fact that we cant rely on breath of heaven, vercupti, fishak, and ryshcate after the chef revamp next patch).

although zebrak has some cool features i suppose. but human.

or wookie? i like wookies. people whine about the whole armor thing, but i don't wear armor anyway. hmmm.

I'd still go with Human. Rather than nerf Human stats, I bet the change will be to maximize other races stats where appropriate. The other option would be to try Wookiee since they can use Bowcasters which should be fixed in the near future along with giving them at least minimal armor. Zabraks are neat too- Equilibrium blew me away the first time it was used against me.

Not wearing armor should only be an important consideration if you plan not to have a melee profession to back up your rifle. I am a master brawler/heavyswordsman/rifleman. If a melee(usually tka. i swear half of my server plays one) gets under 20m and i cant shake them, i have a macro key on the + key of the keypad that: puts on a suit of 70% kinetic ubese, switches to my sword, and hits Center of Being.

Actually...now that i think about it, if you go this route, you can accomodate it with nearly any stats since ubese is very low HAM. Once the decay is gone from pvp, it might be a good idea for riflemen to carry a minimal set of enc sliced ubese(helm, chest, legs) for use when a melee gets too close(and make a macro to quickly switch in and out of it). That tka will go from headhitting you for 500 down to 150, which might give you enough breathing room to fire off the killing shot.

As far as race, i prefer human, since i often have access to buffs. This allows me to set my 3 mind stats very high(usually 900-1000), and just buff up the others.

If the bowcaster was worth a **edit** i would have gone wookie just for style.
