Thread: To all the Nerf Rifleman people.
Greetings. I've been playing since day 1. Rifleman was my first mastered proffesion many months ago and i've never had to give it up.
First off, PVP i miss 1/3 of the time no matter what. With any gun i use. And at pointblank i miss over 2/3 of the time.
2nd Rifleman used to be hard to level and play effectivly. It's not anymore because of all the food/drugs that can be used to reduce ham cost and increase your mind. Muon, fishnak, tempari, glucose, and others. Gone are the days when you would actually loose 150 mind per shot.
3rd. TKM and BH's usually beat me. If I get the first shot on the TKM and can kite i can win. But so does every other ranged proffesion. Other than that I'm on my back Dizzy/KD untill i'm dead. BH's don't do much damage to me, they just finish off what my ham costs do to me. Commando's with flame of course if it hits will end up killing me. Also Pistoleers get to dabble in other proffesions and can be serious problems. Carbineers are finally learning how to deal with their setbacks and can give me trouble at times with dizzy/kd. About the only class I can defeat 100% of the timeis ID.
4th. Rifleman in PvP is worse now than it was before.Thank you ranged Mitigation. Rifleman was hit harder by this than anyother class.
And I'll finish this off with a PvP story. My guild has 6 master rifleman. 4 of us with 2 TKM where harassing rebels in their city. They came after us with 12 people. The rifleman managed to take out about 6 before we all got killed. While we laid there wondering to clone or wait for rez, we saw the 2 TKM take out the rest of the 6 rebels. More rebels showed up and finally finished them off. Final tally that battle was 4 master rifleman 6 dbs. 2 TKM 9. I've seen this happen many times in my PvP experience. So please when you start trashing other proffesions please take a look in the mirror.

The devs are smarter then the nerf-herders.
Plus, the whole combat system is getting overhauld. I don't think the devs are gonna make more work for themselves when everything is getting redone anyways
thats just because everyone was yelling louder about other things
CH dabblers, entire reveamp of a profession and all of the creatures in the game. that was after a nerf in EVERY patch (yes some were needed, haveing 3 gurrecks out is a little crazy)
all the rebs yelling about imps AT-ST's 2 nerfs later how often do you see one???
ppl crying over how DOT's work. now they don't kill, just leave it at 1 HP.
i can go on but i won't. plain and simple if it works break it cause we don't wanna fixwhats broke(SOE motto)
also most of the ppl that cry nerf haven't actully learned their profession. its just spam one shot over and over and over and over, ect... i lived off of this before. novice pistol stack bleeds, body shot spam. all i had was novice pistol. in going up the rifleman tree's i've learned there is a time for just about everyshot (wth is surpise shot????).
i don't PvP much. i pretty much get beat up by everyone (even the ID's they all seem to have TKM in my server lol). but i don't care to learn how to either. i'm setup for hunting, which i do pretty well. if i mant to make money its send in pet to the nest then spam SS2. if i wanna have fun its pets stay in the data pad (well except my mount, i'm to cheap to want to pay the credits to get my car fixed) and actully use tactics other than concealshot spam. you actully can learn alot about animals that way. like if you get agro'd on endor by a blurge raptor, pray there is a mountian around that you can run up, cause they keep up really well to burstrun on flat or downhill surfaces. slow as can be going uphill. they also agro from 64m and break my maskscent everytime.
to sum it all up, whats going to end up happening is that everyone is to be even to the point that an there is no need to master anything, or even spend many SP, we'll all look alike, have the same house with the same furnishings, and all be useing CDEF's cause everyother gun in the game has been nerfed so they are even. all creatures will be CL 10 with no resists to anything (except kryte's the'll bump the HAM up tol like 1 mil).

I must say....the game must be finally getting into pretty good shape if Riflemen are at the top o the 'nerf this' list =P
Don't get me wrong. I think Rifle is a very powerful class, though the power onlyreally shines at master (as it should). The only uneasiness I have at all is the removal of the 2.5x melee damage penalty. Taking away our biggest weakness does make our strengths stand out a bit more.
Either way, people probably need to lay off the 'nerf' bandwagon for anything until thecombat balance is finished. It's going to be a completely new ballgame at that point....experiences with the current system will be largely irrelevant at that point.
