Rifleman. Rifleman and Rifleman. A physically weak class (yeah, it seems flat out wrong to thik of a wookie as physically weak) should focus on keeping the enemy as far away as possible.

IMHO, the wookie's HAM bonus is way subpar from what it should be. They should implement a larger bonus that "levels up" as you go up a skill tree. Perhaps after you've used XXX amount of skill points, the wookie HAM bonus should be so high that it rivals the benefits of a good set of armor's damage reduction.

Right now, the wookie breed is just trash. A small bonus to creature handling is worthless in the endgame unless pets are put in with such high requirements that only a wookie could use them and the AOE intimidate special isn't impressive at all.

Some nice ideas in addition to a larger HAM pool would be to allow wookies to use creature traps on human npcs and players.

In Anarchy Online, there was a similar problem with a weak breed called the "nanomage". Poor physical base stats made it difficult for them to wear armor and they also had an inherent health pool deficiency. The devs took notice and gave them a larger nanopool (think mind pool or mana pool) to compensate. It still wasn't enough, so they released nanos (think spells) with such high requirements that only nanomages could easily use them. Something similar should be done for wookies.

Other ideas could be improved bowcasters that become available when a wookie player levels up in the marksman and rifleman line, or even an evades/scouting bonus of some sort, given that they're animal-like. Maybe even a rifle accuracy and damage bonus when wielding a bowcaster.Or attributes and evades boosting wookie clothes....Something needs to be done at any rate, or the big powerful warrior wookie will become slightly useful only for non-combat professions, which makes no sense at all.

Until the devs wake up and rethink the wookie breed and give a stronger advantage, my advice is to design your character around keeping an enemy far, far away from you with a rifle and pets. Sony has a good amount of resources to draw from and I don't see much need to have this problem exist long-term....

If you had the choice, do you think wookiee's make better pistoleer's or riflemen. Take in consideration no armor, and extra HAM.

Been having this discussion with friends. Some feel wookiee's should be as far away as possible from the action, thus rifle would be better.

Others feel pistoleer is better because is gives more defense. Which is lacking for wookiee's.

Opinions?

There are other things to take into account. Are all your points free? Are there other proffessions you want mastered? Pistol when dabbled with Smuggler or BH can be very dangerous. But pistoleers need armor more than rifleman do. Rifle is pretty much all offense and no defense. Which kinda goes along with a Wookiee. If you can dabble pistol pvp and pve might be better. If you don't want to dabble or only have the points for 1, rifleman is the way to go. I rarely use armor in pvp and I do pretty well. And it would be cool to see a wookiee rifleman pvping with a bowcaster!
