Thread: T21 extra damage or lower mind for master

I will be a master soon, so I'm going to treat myself to a great T21.

For the same price (which is a lot), I can get either a 184-522 / 73 mind / 7.3 speed or a 231-575 / 99 mind / 7.3 speed (no powerups for either, both are sliced). I would put a max/min damage powerup on the 73 mind one and a max damage/mind one (not as good a powerup vs. damage mitigation (do creatures have DM, by the way?)) on the 99 mind one. I am a food/drink/drug addict (muon, fishak, glucose pate), but mind buffs are hard to come by. However, I am a Zabrak, so my focus is capped at 500. This would be for PVE unless you think it would be better than my 160-299/46 mind jawa for PVP raids, where most people have composite helmets.

So is the extra damage worth the extra mind cost? In other words, which one would give me a higher effective damage per second taking into consideration being forced to autofire because I'm low on mind.

Thanks,

oops, hit reply too soon. I'd probably go with the second rifle for the higher minimum damage. On a longer raid/mission, you'd probably end up burning through your mind pool regardless, so doing good damage on autofire seems important too.

**edit** that's a high mind cost though, I dunno Buy them both heh.

I would go with the first one, especially for PvE. The 99 mind usage will get you down in just a few shots unless you're buffed. In PvP it works as you can eat food just before the encounters.. but in PvE the high mind cost will keep you resting for much longer than you are able to fight.

well at master i go for damage. i'm also a Zabrak and if i can find either a musician or dancer buff i'm happy (even the first level ones). if i can get a master dancer buff its easy BOH and double stack or glucose (or an icecream). if its a musician buff fishak and icecream. with the higher HAM costs for the damage you'll also need a set of doc buffs. i find that i run out af health before i run out of mind from specials. but even the autofire is nice on the high damage rifle. to fully comperhend what master gives you try out the t21 before you master it. then once you master OMG look at the differance.

Good call wabit. When i mastered, i pulled out my cloting attatchments and armor attatchments so i went from a +70 to a +97 speed. Holy cow, i about fell off my seat. I was on naboo when i first tried it out, so i had a hard time finding anything to stand up for more than 3 shots.

500 focus cap, ouch. I have a 1100 focus, and a 102 mind damage t21. Without ice cream or moen, i take 89 damage every time i pull the triger. That burns through 1100 mind pretty quick. If i only had 500 focus, unless i could always find a master musician, or planned on fighting when the moen let me, i wouldn't even think about the higher ham one.

mmm, well...

I have a at end stat with dmg slice and powerup...

680 damage t21

40% wound

104 mind cost

AND

640 damage t21

30% wound

66 mind cost

-----------------------

I use the 680 to hit the biggest bleeds I've ever hit with a rifle at 2.5k mind shot2 and 1.5k mindshot 1... I keep hitting the mind shot buttons till I at least get over 1k on ms1 and 2k on ms2... this really helps...

As for damage, the 680 does a lot more damage on special, I think it might be the wound chance... I have no clue... but in general I drop things in 3 shots (Rancor, Kimo) and with teh other one, it takes 5 (same stuff)

The mind cost really hurts... but wiht 1500 focus, the mind cost goes down and is nothing... I run out of health before my mind bar moves usually...

I eat Corellian Fried Ice Cream with Breath of Heaven to boost it up to 1500... then I just fire away... try it yourself if you don't believe me...

Of course food gets expensive... so sometimes I skimp... nail my bleeds with teh 104 mind cost one... then switch to the 68 mind cost one...

How did I pay for it? Nym missions... 10k a pop, you get a High whatever mech and you sell it... 10 missions in half an hour and I pay for 2 rifles... take the chance on teh slice...
