A gentleman I speak to from time to time helped bring me into SWG, just after it went on sale. I don't see him too often, and he hasn't been in game much the last couple months due to his company moving him all over the country. We were swaping stories, and I heard something I never heard before.

He claims, back in his Beta days, that Rifleman could /takecover and use /conceal shot on players. He said it kept you from showing up on the radar.

Was this true? Heck, is it still true?

I doubt you'll find anyone who is an old beta player still around or at least someone who will admit it. I mean it seems we are still in Beta doesn't it? I have done many experiments on trying to get off radar with friends. I still can find no way to do it. I think you are right in that initailly rifleman could be snipers but they "fixed" the bugs they let them do this a long time ago.

If it was ever true it was prior to Beta 3. Radar is radar.. those type of things have never worked on players in that way unfortunately. Besides that, as soon as you shoot someone they have you targeted, so even if you didnt show on radar they can find you very easily.

I played in Beta, unforunately I don't know about this because I didn't PVP when I was in beta. I don't recall anybody ever talking about this at the time though.
