Thread: Any Rifleman/Swordsman???
I like the combo for the most part.
I usually run unarmored, with buffs. I eat some chef food when i'm about to rock(and save the muon or pixie for emergencies). I usually pick targets and shoot while running backwards(with the down arrow so i can still look forward). If someone gets near melee range, they get a warcry2. If they REALLY get too close, i have a macro that switches to sword, puts on a helm/pants/jacket(ubese 70% kinetic), and hits COB. From then on i hit intimidate2, and either hit some bleeds, or just start headhitting.
The combo is working good for me so far. The only people that really bother me are CMs or commandos, since i solo. If i get a disease/poison, or a flame dot, im basically dead, since i have no backup. TKAs i especially make sure to keep outside of melee range because of KD/dizzy. I used to have ranged support 4, for suppression, but getting a dizzy/kd combo with flurry to actually work is really rare. I dropped ranged supp 4 in favor of fencer 3/0/0/0 for the extra defense, in hopes that it will make a flamethrower or CM poison/disease hit miss in time for me to smoke the enemy.
I am Master Rifleman/Master Swordsman. For PvE, the combination rocks. The combination is heavy on Offensive capabilities, and is specifically geared towards mind pool attacks. Go prone at 60m, open up with Headshots, if they survive long enough to get within melee range, stand up, Warcry/Intimidate/CoB and whack away with the Powerhammer on their mind pool. They are not likely to survive more than one or two swings.
If you expect them to be particularly tough, do the same as above, except make your first two rifleshots Mindshot1 and Mindshot2. If they get to you and they still have a good deal of mind pool left, make your first two PH hits, Mindhit1 and Mindhit2. That is for bleeds stacked on the mind pool. It is not hard to average over 4000 - 5000 in mind bleeds doing this.
If you do not feel like attacking mind or want to take on large groups at once, Strafeshot2 with rifle, then AreaAttack3 with the PH.
For PvP, Master Rifleman is deadly on its own, adding Master Swordsman for the same reasons as above can only make you more deadly.
Two issues to be aware of: The build is geared towards offense. You can tank with this build, especially if buffed, but there are other builds (e.g., Pistoleer/Fencer) which have higher defenses. Also, both Rifleman and Swordsman can hit with dizzy, and dizzy can knock an opponent down, but it is not a reliable knockdown. If you want to be more successful with knockdown, you need Master Brawler (Lunge2) for this build.
