Thread: how to get novice Rifleman in under *blank* hours
I went the opposite direction as you. I went Rifleman first then recently took up a melee profession, Swordsman. I then went back and finished up all of Brawler over the last few days. My experiences in leveling rifleman will of limited help to you because it was a much different game for Riflemen when I went up to Rifles IV (you know...I had to go hunting in the snow, I had no shoes, and it was up hill both ways). However, my recent experiences leveling the lowerlevels oftheBrawlertiers may be of help.
Get a DLT20to get to Rifles I, then aDLT20a(if it exceeds your DLT20) to get to Rifles II.There are some comparitivley good ones out there now, so shop around. As soon as you get to Rifles II, go shopping for a Laser Rifle. You will use this for leveling until you get to Rifles IV, at which time you will havecerts to all the rifles available for Riflemenexcept for the T21. At that point, you may want to go with the E11 if you can find a good one. It is faster, has a higher minimum damage, and lower HAM than the Laser while still being AP2. It does, however, has a lower max damage than the Laser. Of course, you can use any of the rifles you get certs for as you go up, but for leveling in a few hours, you are going after specific targets, so a wide choice of weapons is not an issue right now.
For leveling tiers 1 & 2 for all the Brawler levels, I went out to the area justNorth of Moenia. There are Flesh Eating Chubas, Capper Spineflaps, and Flewts that spawn continually there. They are relatively easy to kill, and give 100 - 150 XP per. There arealso some Rawls or Narglatch (sp?) Cubs that spawn there if you can handle them. They give about 300 XP per. Since there are multiple creatures types that spawn continuously, you can move from spawn point to spawn point all within a small area and never have any idle time. There is also a Marksman trainer right in town there if you need training and cannot find someone. For the 1,000 points you need forRifles I, and the 5,000 you need for Rifles II, this is a good strategy.
To get the 15,000 points for Rifles III, you can either continue to do this, or move to the Mission teminals in town and take Kaadu missions or other missions you feel you can handle. Take them to the North. When you are done with thosetwo missions, you will be in the vicinity of Maw City (*insert shameless plug here*). Go to the city hall at Maw City, and you will find a mission termial where you can take two missions to the south. This will put you back near Moenia. After a few missions, you will be done with Rifles III. If you end up more to the North West of Moenia, there is another city which should also have mission terminals. If you end up there, take missions South East to get back near Moenia.
You can continue doing this, moving up to more difficult missions (gualamas, for instance), to work on Rifles IV, or you can head to Dant and work on missions there for more XP per, but you will probably want to group for a while.
At Rifles IV, you will have your first rifle bleed shot, Mindshot1. Bleeds will allow you to single pull creatures, so go prone between 40 - 60m from the target. Hit it with a bleed, then go peace. Move back to about 100m. When the bleed hits, that one creature will aggro on you. And at that distance, at least two bleed ticks will have expired before it gets to you. Hit it with Headshots until you kill it.
If you can get to Ranged Support III, you get Warningshot. Use Warningshot to keep the critter off of you while you bleed it and kill it.
