Thread: Why do THEY keep lying to us?

Some time ago we asked to have our range increased beyond 64m since pistols and carbs were shooting just as accurately (or even moreso) from the same max distance. They told us they couldn't extend the range beyond 64 because it was impossible based on game mechanics. So tell me why the #$% did they just OFFICIALLY increase turret range to 80m? Why tell us something false like they did and turn around and do just the opposite? I'm pretty ticked right now after seeing that..............if you haven't read it for yourself check the link below for the new increased turret range.

Maybe cause Turrets already know where a player is without actually having to see him... cause it's computer controlled...


I think the limitation is more for weak computers... what is the maximum distance that a computer with the lowest graphical distance can see?

Because giving that as an excuse will just make us shut up. If they came right out and simply said "We don't think you deserve it, it will be balance breaking, and a lot of work we just don't wanna do" think of all the threads we would have had describing how it could work out and be fair and balanced (c) that they would have to respond to but keep their not gonna do it stance.

Correct me if Im wrong , but the range in Beta was further than 64m. It is more of a do not want to increase range , not a can not change range thing.

Your computer doesn't matter; the lag is on the server side. I got a new computer last month and still have the same problems with mobs not spawning until I'm on top of them, especially when I'm using a vehicle.


However, combat medics have shown that combat ranges of over 70m are possible with the current setup.

Thunder Heart loves to lie and slap people in the face. Seems to be a simple explaination. Seriously, this is a slap in the face. "Combat is capped at 64m anything else is unstable and a bug" followed by 80m combat by turrets.

I read that in the thread the other day as well. They are definitely not being straight with us. There is no reason why a dummy-turret should have an increased range, while we are still limited to 64m.

No dice...i can hit my <<TAB>> and target things up to 120m away and I don't physically see them (due to LOS usually).


They are CHOOSING not to enable longer ranges for rifles. I would gladly give up speed and/or damage if I could target from the 64-85 range.

I am also agreeing, rifles having the max range of 64m is fubar because pistols and carbines have the range and can still be as deadly.
