Thread: defense stats question
from the last thing i saw from TH stacking defences was an "exploit" that was never intended. so i guess after the new patch rifleman will be a stand alone skill with absolutly no way to improve your combat efectivness or your defences. Well you could go CHI guess since that will still stack with anything. but other then that i see no way to suplement yourcombat skills in anymeaningful way (docchef or some form of entertainer for the buffs)
but as far as makeing you Master Rifleman better then ever other master rifleman it dosent look like that will be an option after the next patch. I guess its back to the days of everyone being a BH, Comando, or CH all over again.
I don't think TH actually said stacking defenses was an "exploit", but he did say that the developers were not prepared for the "min-maxers" to get the uber defensive templates.
I'm still not sure what the heck they are going to do with Ranged Defense and Melee Defense, unless they create separate defenses of these for every profession, how will they not stack? Also, what would they do with the Melee defense armor attachments or skill attachments? And Squad Leaders have skills that enhance these Ranged or Melee defenses, so I have no idea what they could possible do to alter that. My hope is that they will just do something with "Block", "Dodge", and "Counterattack", but that remains to be seen.
I was pretty pessimistic about this earlier, I was even the one who made the post about defenses not stacking here, but I guess until they actually tell us what will not stack, we'll have no idea what's in store.
My pessimism will now shift to being pissed at the lack of communication on what they are thinking about doing for these combat changes. These little snippets here and there do nothing. It is pretty frustrating.
I also heard an unverified rumor that they would be capping things like Melee and Ranged Defense skills at 150. So people with templates that stack the defenses up to 200+ will no longer be "untouchable".
But again, that is just a rumor. ![]()
