Thread: Pistoleer/Smuggler Going for rifle...needs advice.

I need advice for my template that I am working on.


I am currently master smuggler and master pistoleer.


I have novice scout and novice medic for harvesting/healilng.


I want to pick up rifleman for my 3rd class on my guy. I have messed with the character builder and I can grab 1 line of rifle after novice.


I mainly plan on using this for pvp, so I was curious which line should I pick up?? I saw the one with headshot 3, which I figure is the best one to pick up. BUT I wanted to hear it from the experts ; )

Rifleman is probably the foremost elite combat profession that discourages dabbling. It's literally not worth your time to take only one tree. your best bet would be the special abilities tree (rifle speed mods, and flurry2 with is a good aoe attack w/dizzy). but, even then, your accuracy mods would be terrible for pvp.


honestly, it's just not worth it, in my opinion

That is exactly the advice I was also given - not woth it to dabble.



I was a Smuggler/CH/with some pistoleer.



The Pistoleer mods went well with the Smuggler and Creatures were my tanks. I could solo Dark Jedi using FD and several sets of creatures for distractions - I was too powerful - I thought. Well - I guess the Devs thought the same. They made my creatures wimpy and made FD reagro my target immediately no matter how far away I was from them. I think the maximum one came away after me was over 150 mters - zip - he's by my side attacking again - and from out of line of sight.



Well - that's another story.



I have been working on rifle now for awhile. I'm giving up my creatures. I am keeping my smuggler since I love to RP with her. But for fighting - it will be in groups as a Master Riflewoman (at least someday I'll reach master. Basically, 2 different characters for two different purposes. Although I still switch to pistol really quick in close quarters since Low Blow and Panic work ever so nicely to let me run back to rifle distance. And FD still saves my behind very nicely in a really rough encounter . But for combat - I really enjoy using rifles - I actually feel better about the fight even when I get incapped or die than when I use to win using creatures.
