i don't think i've ever seen block actually work, although i see npcs do it. so you gotta wonder what the deal is. it would be nice if they could get this fixed, considering that we're missing out on the equivalent of dodge/counterattack.

if you watch combat log it says you counterattack when you are really blocking

Yeah, I have dueled a friend to check this out and this is what is happening:

We shot at each other and healed until we got results. My combat chat said "%TT hits you but you counterattack" or something to that effect. His said "you hit %TT but he blocks".

So I guess it works, it just doesn't say the right thing in our logs.

Im not convinced that block is working. im a rifleman/pikeman so i have all the block in this game. every once and a while i see the counterattack in the logs, but not very often. i dont think anyone can deny that block is severely borked. at best it may be working at 20% of what it was intended and the fact that you dont see block in your combat log suggests it doesnt work at all

You do block but you still take the damage, jsut like if hunting, if a creature blocks it still takes the damage.

Same here dueling a friend. She even saw the little block animation I did, heh.
