depends on what your goals are. for me i pick things that are fun to me and enhance my ability to solo play.

but personally i dont see what combat medic adds to rifle skills. during the time you waste tossing a disease at someone you could have killed the person/creature with your rifle. combat medics cannot heal their own mind stats. i can see people taking up TK or other melee skills or other elite combat skills for the defenses or medic/doctor or ranger or a host of other things but combat medic has always eluded me as to what benefit it brings to the table that cant be better achieved by the bleed attacks that we already have...

I'm going to agree with Barb, I haven't been or fought against too many combat medics, but for the amount of skill points used it seems like a waste. I think you could get a much better template for that amount of skill points. Possibly grabbing TKA and Pikeman.

one other thing...

the only reason to take up CM would be to master it as to be a better benefit to a group PVP team. in THAT sole aspect it would fit the role of a rifle user. use for anything else i dont see how it would help. a doctor is far more effective in a group role than a CM is in just about every circumstance except as part of a PVP rifle team.

a team of two CM/rifle and one doctor/rifle would be unstoppable by anything short of a tac-nuke in PVP. that would be the only case where it would be useful.

My goal is to:

Master Rifleman
Master Scout
Marksman 4003
Ranger 0040
Brawler 0004
Pikeman 0040

Once the Block ability is sorted out then that combined with teh Defense mods ie Dizzy, Knockdown etc I should be very hard to hit.

Ok, so Plan A went down in a smoldering heap. What about this?

*Wonders what he was thinking*

*Reaches deep in his pocket*

*pulls out Plan B"

Ok here is my new and improved template fresh off Alakazam!

Marksman 4-0-0-0
Brawler 0-0-0-4
Master Medic
Doctor 0-4-4-0
Pikeman 0-0-3-0
Master Sharpshooter

Now i can give the best buffs, rez, better melee defense, and still destroy everything in my path!

I would have to say that's not too bad. Personally, I think you just play what makes you happy in the end, not what will make you uber. For instance, I will be getting the following after I Master Artisan and Scout (which I'm doing and dropping cause I just so close anyways I might as well Master the **edit** things).

Master Rifleman

Master Smuggler

Novice Pistoleer (0-0-0-0)

Scout (3-0-2-0)

Novice Medic

Artisan (0-0-0-3)

Or something there abouts. I'll play that for awhile then try Master Ranger instead of Smuggler.

Otay, here's the deal. Just mastered Rifleman(the only Prof that i have ever wanted)and its time for support staff disecting.

*bows waiting for applause*
*cricket chirps*
*runs to corner, burst into tears*

Well i spent about 2 hours on Alakazam today, 4 hours online speaking with various friends about their prof. And here is what i came up with.

Master Rileman
Marksman 4-0-0-4
Master Medic
Brawler 0-0-0-4
Combat Medic 0-0-0-4
Pikeman 0-0-3-0

Now this gives me all the destructive power of Rifleman *rubs his hands together, bursts into a demented laugh*, the ability to support melee, poison and have all the defensive bonus of Pikeman.

So what do you think?

*looks around for replies*
*cracks open beer*
*flops down on floor*
*waits*

I like the pike too.. but... the 0/0/0/4 Combat medic doesnt quite work... u get great poisons and area heals... But... u wont get any range out of the stims/poisons... if u want to be more effective with those.. then id maybe drop the pike.. and put it into the first tree of combat medic...

I like doctors, I think there great players but I do not want to be one.

1'st I'm an offensive minded person, I don't want to rez people in a group I want to chase down people and slaughter them.

2'nd if you need doc Buffs just go to a doctor, the dam things last so long any way.

My suggestion would be to master a melee profession, you'll get melee mitigation 3 andlot's of defensive bonuses.

Now myself, I wanna hunt Jedi so that throws a brick through my window. I'm basically gonna be a buffed Master Sharpshooter in armor chasing jedi.-Might work might not, but I wanna have fun so I'll try it
