Thread: Why is it Pistoleers have the same range as Rifleman?

I posted this in SWG Discussion but I need a bit of Rifleman support.

My weapon is a Krayt Scout Blaster that is sliced at 1.2 speed and303 damage with a powerup.

I would also like to know why Pistoleers have the same Damage types and defensive modifiers yet Rifleman and Swordsman don't, same thing for Carbineers and Pikeman



Pistolers have dodge and do health damage


Fencers have dodge and do health damage



Rifleman have block and do mind damage


Swordsmen have counter-attack and do mind damage



Carbineers do action damage and have counter-attack


Pikeman do action damage and have block

why is it that rifleman have the same speed cap as pistoleers?


let's shut up about range.. it's really the least of our problems. they get to shoot at 64m, and we get to shoot at 1 sec (at master). sounds fair to me, since we FAR outdamage them.

One still /should/ be able to fire at a traget that is beyond 64 meters away.


Pistols should have less of a chance to hit than rifles, but you still should be able to pull the trigger.


What would make combat really interesting would be much more ranged diversity. Bring in some artillery, or long range missiles, and the tactics used in combat would become much more complex.

Pistoleers have the same range because we have the same speed cap. If they cap our speed we will have their range capped, they know this so they don't try to push for that silly speed cap anymore.


This is one of our M.A.D.(Mutually Assured Destruction) tactics. We don't ask for a range cap, they don't ask for a speed cap. Everyones happy, hell thatwon the cold war.

Excellent point.Hell,I could care less if they could suddenlyshoot at 70m, as long as I can keep my speed. Let them keep their range and let sleeping dogs lie please....
