ive been trying to get to rifleman for a while now, but i cant seem to get good xp anywhere. The best xp i can really hope for is to group with my probot and do the faction missions from a neareby base, but even then i usually can only get 380 xp from the highest npc i kill (which is usually a 1 shot drop)

if anyone could recommend missions, planets etc where i could get xp faster that would be great, and if theres some creds involved thats of course not frowned upon

Get a better pet than a probot, like a cowardly gurreck or a mountain krevol, name it Tank, then go to Dantooine and do huurton missions.

Squals I mean not Squills, Squills would kill you.

I've gone back to Coronet Spaceport to join in the Sharnaff hunts. They are not very exciting, but with the T21 I can get between 900 and 1900xp per beast depending on whether I can get to 60m quick enough, before all the brawlers finish it off.

Go out to krayts with a group? Thats how I got rifles 3-4...about 2-3k exp a pop.

Here is what I'd do. Go to Dantooine. Find Pickets or see if you can pull missions for them (they are 9k pay). Find Picket and go prone at 60m. Use a powerup and/or sliced laser rifle to fire a bleed shot on the Picket. Immediately peace. Stand up and pull back to about 120m. Switch to low HAM cost rifle that is fast firing. DLT20a or CDEF speed sliced or speed poweruped. Once the bleed ticks some the Picket will charge you. Throw WarningShot at it to keep it away. Once the bleed drops it to 1 mind than any hit will drop it. You should get around 4k XP for each one.

When I was looking for Rifle XP at your level I took out Dalyrakes on Corellia. They were worth about 1k each. Though I think they were changed to be social now. I haven't hunted them in awhile. If you want to try them look in the mountains to the west of Kor Vela (near the Rebel base).

I had a lot of luck getting from rifles 4 to novice by wearing a full suit of composite armor and soloing dewbacks on Tatooine. I’m only grouped my propbot and never send him into the fight. I might be wrong but having him in the group but not fighting seems to give a 10 percent xp bonus. I don’t bother using specials, other than an occasional shot for curiosity’s sake. I hit novice last night and I’m still making 1500 to 3000 rifle xp per dewback kill. Maybe its not the best way to do it, but it has worked for me so far. If you have basic medical you can just stim yourself and have no downtime.

I can do this without buffs but if you take the time to get spice, food, drink and doctors buffs you can take on even more stuff and still feel pretty safe.

Non-CH tamed pets are crap now, your 900 HAM no armor no resist minor sludge panther/krevol/whatever will last about five seconds against anything that would give decent exp, and probot is unhealable so you'd get maybe one mission donebefore it's incapped.

Either learn CH, hunt in groups, or find a bio-engineer and pay a lot for a non-crap CH pet.

Go to Lok, group with a tka, etc, and hunt gurks. Let the melee dude tank, and spam away. You'll get loads of xp...

Get a good T-21 and off gualamas. It easier than the other choice, but yields slower xp. I recommend the Lok or any other advanced planet way. With my T-21, I was offing things with up 9k hams using only HS2, Bleeds most, but not all the time, and Warning shot from a scout blaster. Yo-yo, Works wonders.

Rori is the place to be, do one of two thing:

A) Group with someone or some pet and get level 25 Tattered Torton missions. Tattered Tortons are not social, take only a few HS2's to kill and give 1200XP.

B) Kite Squills, they are much slower than you and give about 760 XP and up depending on the squill.
