Thread: conceal shot still working?
i'll admit, i don't use conceal shot much.
but, was using it last night on a huurton stalker... 5 successful shots in a row, and then got aggro'd without a miss.
has it always been this way?
sure you didn't hit a different shot or wound it? i've had that happen once or twice, but it's pretty rare.
admittedly i did not concealshot anything last night though...
i believe this has happend before, i think it has to do with moving into the creatures agro range, not having conceal shot fail... i had a giant kemo brake my mask scent while i was sniping it once... wasnt prety,never missed a shot, but it is agro ![]()
i heard a rumor that very high level creatures and npc's may detect conceal shots, but it hasnt happend to me yet
definitely wasn't a different shot or a wound. had spammed conceal (still had 3 cued up).
however, the point about aggro range is a good one.. i was not scent masked, and the mob was moving.. it may have tripped the 40m aggro range.
I think it may have something to do with that drawing ability they put in, it kinda seems to limit concealshot to be useful between 41-49 meters at 50 the critter walks toward you, possibly past the 40 m aggro line. of course I havent played in a few days and am no where near master, but that's my theory

actually, i just remembered the reason they come at you even though you aren't in range is cause you don't have mask scent on. they are stalking you but still not aggroed.
barb-wire is right, concealshot probably hasn't changed at all.
i have had arch witches and dragoons make like they saw me shoot. it's wierd i hit them and they move directly towards me, but don't start firing until they get to 50-55m.
this was before the patch though.
i thought the way it worked was it was just a chance that that mob and that mob alone would aggro once it's time to aggro came.
so say you are getting ready to gun down a pack of baz nitch. you target one...mindshot 1, mindshot 2, wait. wait. wait. headshot3 and he's heading towards you. now if concealment chance worked on that first mindshot1, only the 1 baz nitch runs at you. if concealment chance failed on that first mindshot1 as soon as the baz nitch targets you the rest of his buddies do too.
now if you concealshotted that same baz nitch it would be work like normal.
it would be nice if it worked to literally pull away from the group. like you could pull something 25m away from it's buddies and strafe it? anyone test this?
was messing around with grauls tonight. i pulled a couple out just few meters form the group 10 -15 usually then send the pets in. only had the pets get agro's once that was whenanother graul walked to within 2m.
conceal shot would break with thosepreviously evil witchs, a miss, or if the animal got within 40-50m of where i was standing. don't try it on krytes they break it pretty consistantly but with 300-400k HAM it would take a crate of muon and all night to kill a single one.
i was only 4/2/0/3 trying this out. got up one more conceal lve and call it quits for the night, so a Master will prob have better/different results.

pre-patch i could peace and walk up to one after shooting him so some changes have been made to their agressiveness. so conceal shot works fine as long as you are 41+ meters away
