Thread: a possible dilemma
first off i do not PVP except for very rare duels so not being able to PVP is of no consequence. i like animals a lot. a lot more than i had thought. with the new BE changes i have been considering going BE/CH and them i would have room for one line of rifle if i did this.
i REALLLLLY enjoy rifles but i primarily sit behind my pets and snipe. i can give up all but 0004 rifle for the speed and since HS2 is my primary attack and the rest is auto fire. i dont want to give up my pets or rifle but making pets is fascinating since they fixed it.
just looking for opinions, you guys are more on the ball on things than most of the other forums
if you keep special abilities you'll be able to fire decently fast, and have flurry2 for those times where you get in trouble. it's probably a good plan.MCH is cool, it's going to get some more nerfs i think, but i bet my bottom dollar at the end of it all you'll be riding rancors and that is just about one of the coolest things i can think of.
i don't know anything about what kind of mitigation/defense bonuses BE or CH get though, how will you be in the defense department after dropping all of rifle?

They have no mitigation and no defense modifiers, but a CH will have their pet do all the tanking and mitigation has pretty much no effect on PVE because creatures don't have large enough damage ranges for it to do anything.
buy yourself a second account, setup the new character to be Master BE.
Make your rifleman toon Master Rifle/Master CH , make your pets with the BE account, use'em with the Rifle account.
problem solved. ![]()

my main problem since getting master is always running out of mind due to the fast fire rate. finding slower and slower rifles hasnt helped that issue. granted i would miss strafe2 but i generally only use that on creatures i now ride past on my speederbike.
i guess what im looking for is a way to keep my combat ability of hunting while giving myself some goals other than grinding out destroy missions.
i have 900k rifle XP banked. does anyone know if the XP will poof if i am at the cap and shoot something with a rifle and kill it but dont get XP since i am capped if i surrender the skills??

yes.. it will.
i lost 40k ch xp, and 250k pistol xp in this manner (stuff banked prior to starting holos). as soon as you generate an xp check (killing a creature), the system will notice that you're above the allowable cap and reduce you to the normal cap figure for your current skills... if you dropped to 0/0/0/4, that would be catastrophic, as you'd cap at 250k i believe, and lose the other 650k rifle xp.
it will poof. (the XP)i like the second account idea. but it's only viable if you don't mind blowing an extra 15 bucks a month.
personally, if i dug MCH alot i would stick with that, and MRM, and merely pay someone for the BE'd pets. there's no real indication that CH in its current state will stay the same. the inclusion of something like, some monsters aggroing pet owners instead of the pet, would be devestating i think to someone with little defenses save the pet. remember also, the whole system of combat right now is changing... likely we'll see that weird ham/special system sometime in the future, and this could really make the MRM/MCH hunter very effective.
you gotta also think, money is fairly easy to come by for a master rifleman... it'd be pretty easy to buy the pets. (you may have to work a bit on getting exactly what you want though).
i dont have much desire to play a different character heh may sound odd but i like being me in the game.
anyways thanks for the replies i will probably keep master rifle since i had figured that i could just drop to 0004 and with my banked XP only have to re-grind a few boxes if i didnt like it. since that wont work and i dont want to use carbines and pistol is next to worthless in PVE ill stay where i am skill wise. i talked to the other half in RL and she agrees with you guys probably a bad idea.
Come on stay with Master Sharpshooter, you know you'll miss it if you give it up.
Have to admit that BE stuff is making me think about dusting off my old CH/BE wookie character.Especially since mySharpshooter char is going to be dropping most CH skills soon.
