Thread: my thoughts about the rifleman profession
Im a human master rifleman/master combat medic on the corbantis server. I've been playing the game since the second month its been out, and started out working towards rifleman. I've been a master rifleman since just after the patch that added player cities, which totally made riflemen awesome, and absolutely love being a rifleman. In my opinion, right now (if played properly) riflemen are the kings of PvP. With a good set of buffs, armor, and food/drink, and at least some medic ability, we are very near unstopable, with only a few professions that have the ability to hurt us. I normally fight with a master combat medic/master doctor, and I use a Laser Rifle (113-772 6.1 with powerup) or a Jawa Ion Rifle (190-395 5.8 also with powerup) for those with helms, since our server does not have any resist to stun damage on our composite armor.
Anyway, a few thoughts on some things I wouldn't mind being changed about riflemen.
1. I believe riflemen are somewhat underpowered. Snipers should be able to one-shot-kill, but along with it, our speed should be slower. How often does someone survive being shot in the head? But, it does take time to aim.
2. Our concealment treeis totally worthless. I almost never use takecover, since i almost exculsively PvP, and movement is the key to survival. I would like a skill that makes us invisible to radar until we start firing, as that would be more realistic. How often is a sniper seen before he shoots?
3. Our title for the concealment tree is also stupid. I believe we are the only advanced profession with a title that is the same as a starting profession. My idea for the new title is "Ghost", and i believe anyone who has played starcraft would agree that this would be a cool title. In starcraft, ghosts are infantry units that have (1) longer range than any other infantry unit, (2) are more powerful than other units, maybe excluding flamethrower units (I i haven't really played in a while, I forget what they're called), and (3) they have the ability to cloak, or go invisible for a short time.
4. Range, I believe either our range should be longer, or other professions range should be shorter. We're supposed to be snipers, yet someone with a pistol can shoot use from just as far as we can shoot them!
5. And lastly, I think damage mitigation is a HUGE handicap to those riflemen who use Laser Rifles like myself. For example, my primary weapon is the above stated 113-772 Laser Rifle. Now, if I fire at someone with damage mitigation 3, the damage I am able to do with my rifle is dropped all the way down to 113-377! The way damage mitigation works, those hardest hit by it are the people who use weapons with a large spread between min and max damage.
I would love to hear your coments about my ideas.

A one shot one kill would work if they did it something like this...
Each weapon has an ideal accuracy modifier.. the shot would only perform the kill if the shot is fired when that accuracy modifier is PERFECT. If the target is moving around too much, it will be virtually impossible to make that kill shot, as it would be with a real sniper. But you catch somebody napping... and they get the incap shot.

Well, I know it will cool to have that, I myself would like to have that skill
tell me whats the diffrenc bettween me kd+dizzying you and killing you in 1 sec flat and you one shoting me in the mind as i am just standing around
i say yes rifel men need to be abel to one shot ppl
yes all melee should creem ass if you get in rang
yes a rl should hit all ham bars doing 1k dam in pvp if you can hit that is
yes pistolers should be abel to move extremly fast and doge shots but pumb out low dam
yes crabiners should be abel to **edit** you all up with stat efects and hit multibel targets at onec doing so
yes a crafter after bing master for a long time should get more experment points
yes there should be a profesion called miners in the game that do the recours clacting
yes docs should be abel to make a camp site that has a cloning center in it with the help of rangers and BES
yes BHs should be abel to use a posinos dart or a rope to temparaly imobelize you
