Thread: Differences In Rifles And Their Damage Types Question
I've been a Master Rifleman for only a short amount of time, I've been a Master Swordsman for 5 months now and wanted a ranged attack to compliment it. Anyways, a question for you knowledgable rifleman.....
I've been using Laser Rifles 90% of the time, and occasionally switch it up when it comes to PvP, if my opponent is armored I'll use the Jawa Rifle for stun damage...........anyways, in what situations would I use my rifles and what good are they in PvP? I have used my T-21 only 2-3 times in the last few weeks, basically been using the laser rifle..............I see posts on how good the T-21s are, but what are they primarily used for?
Anyways, any input on what rifles are good for what situations would be helpful.........
In the question of T21 vs Laser Rifle...
T21 wins hands down when the opponent has either A.) Armor and energy resistsor B.) Energy resists above 50%. The T21 just punchs holes better in oppnents... the best example of this is on a krayt dragon... go shoot a krayt with a laser and then your good ol'T21... bet you the T21 turns the krayt to swiss cheese faster and it hits for heavier bleeds if you get the 40% wound chance stocked versions...

Laser wins if the enemy has no resists to energy and no armor... because then armor piercing doesn't come into affect....
For bleeding... the T21 always wins because in my experience bleed is based both on max damage and wound %... the max damage can be higher on a laser rifle... but you can no beat the 40% wound chance on a T21... with stock... my Mind Shot 2 is 2500 damage sometimes... you can't beat that... the best I got with a 750 damage laser was 1900, so even against non-armored opponents... you bleed with the T21...
As for PVP...

Jawa wins hands down IF the player wears composite...
If it isn't composite or Bone Armor... then your T21 will just shred them... I've 1 shot killed players without armor on with my T21 and with my laser. You put on a set of ubese or chitin, I shred them with the T21 in one shot... 2 with the laser...
Theey put on 50% energy resistant bone and then I start to see a drop...
That's where I pull out the good ol'Jawa

the new damage mitigation stuff really took a bite out of laser rifles in pvp. people with damage mit 3 really cut down the laser's damage.
the T21, with a tighter distribution of damage, is less effected. Also, the hvy AP helps some, though ham costs are obviously high.
and, as you mentioned, the jawa for armored opps.
I don't use other rifles in pvp. I supposed you could use an E11 as a substitute for a T21 if you wanted a tighter damage range than a laser and less ham than a T21. but, after that, you're stretching.
