I just made novice rifleman...
1. Which tree should I go up first?
2. My currentmain way of killing is, prone at 55m, then spam HS2 and hope the mob is dead in 3 shots otherwise Iget agro from more and have to run away or put my armour on and take use my pistol. Should I change my tactics at all?, should I be using MS1?
Any advice is welcome, I have read a lot of posts but I'm still mot sure what I should be doing.

my preference would be conceal shot and the countersniping tree. countersniping 3 is your first aoe, and increases your xp gain tremendously.
but, you'd better have a tank or some reallly good kinetic armor to use it

I'd agree with Concealshot. Stay back around 62-64 meters and spam away!! Be ready on /peace incase they go out of range. It's a bit slow but you can take out creatures way tougher than you. I was killing Nightsister appretices getting about 5000xp per kill. It can be worth the time.

one more thing, get your hands on a spray stick. You can use it close up and still get rifle xp.
