Ok, I've seen some posts that Block does not work right now, but why do I counterattack all the time? is this a block but combat spam is wrong? Right now my block is +150 and I see counterattack constantly in the spam yet I'm not supposed to have this skill other than the 1 in a 100 chance that every player has since my I have not moved up Carbine or 2H sword. But I have yet to ever see the word BLOCK in the spam. Can anyone confirm that this counterattack that I'm seeing is in fact block?. I still have 2 more skill boxes to master pikeman until block is maxed and I will pay attention to if counterattack increases but I can say that since I started on pikeman, I do see it a lot more.

Other people will see that you blocked in their combat log. Not that that actually means much due to the current nature of block...but at least you do it.

So block do work then?

from what I can tell, in PvE block reduces the damage of the blocked attack by like 1/2.
In PvP I'm told that it doesn't work at all.

I noticed block once in my combat spam. I blocked a melee hit from a thug, I was practicing some melee weapon. I see a lot of counterattacks (well not many but.. I do see them). I don't see counterattack 'all the time'.

Ok, Just played a little pvp now that I've gotten master pikeman, master rifleman. Current stats are +108 ranged defense, +195 Block. Most notiable fight was against a BH, don't think was master yet but did use some of the high BH attacks. I won the fight and noticed the combat queue and this is what happened:

He missed: 13 times
I counterattacked: 12 times (block I guess?, who knows)
He hit for damage: 11 times
Total shots at me: 36

I missed: 7 times
He evaded: 3 times
He dodged: 1 times
I hit for damage: 14 times
Total Shots at him: 25

I was using jawa and moving the whole time. The thing I'm trying to figure out is whether to keep pikeman for the extra block or get a ranged defense setup. I'd hate to drop pikeman because it has massive defenses against states only to find out I'm weaker with +200 ranged defense since block is based on a percentage to happen where as ranged defense is based on a formula that includes their accuracy. Any help would be appreciated:

piket seem to block my shots alot... doesnt really matter tho... still seems to happen.

as for me... im yet to block anything.
