Right now I have 2111 in Rifleman. Trying to go for master. I'm no holo grinding player, mine said master dancer...i said F**k that. Anyways I am going for master rifleman and master commando with a few tka skills for added defense. Anyways, my questions are why are specials costing so much mind. My laser takes away 70 and my T21 about 100, how do I lower these costs on my mind. I feel if I'm not using muon I can only use a few specials. Also, how should I set up my HAM. I'm wearing some composite so it has high encumbrance. What should my Mind, Focus, and Willpower be set at. I'm a human and with composite. What's the best way to set up my stats? Also, one more thing...I keep seeing "AoE", what is this, I feel such a newb for not knowing, but what does it stand for and what attacks are you guys talking about when you mention this. Thx for any info. Master Rifleman will be a victory for me!!!

AoE = Area of Effect, Wich means area attacks. Flushing 2 Strafe 2 and Flurry 2 are all attacks that can hit mulitple targets

I just made master rifles this week. My journey wasn't the fastest, or the safest, but it worked.

-At your level you dont need armor for PvE. Conceal shot makes armor unnecessary, and if you're not wearing composite, your mind regenerates faster. When in doubt, use conceal shot. All other times, use conceal shot. For PvP, armor up, hunt with a group and try not to get killed. At master, it's a whole different ballgame.

-I dropped down to 800 health and action and 900 mind, all my other points went into focus and willpower. That will decrease the mind hit you take when you use a special and increase your regeneration rate.

-I picked up engineering 1+2 on the artisan tree so I could make my own mind cost reducing power-ups. Right now I have over 100 crates of barrels, muzzles and scopes which reduce my mind costs anywhere between 13-18% and give significant damage or range bonuses. You get a good schematic and a factory and in a day you can be set up for months with powerups (all for a few thousand units of metal and fiberplast).

-Muon. I didn't use spice until I hit master. It's another one of those things I now wonder why I never tried before. Muon + mind saving powerup and you can spam specials for a long time. The downers suck, but we dont get any entertainers where I live.

-I'm cheap. When running missions, I would kill mobs with my expensive T21 and take down the lair or camp with an inexpensive laser rifle. That might not be necessary on starter planets, but I did my leveling up on Lok where mynock lairs, nym camps and such have 50-60k damage points. It saved alot of wear and tear on my big guns.

-Use speed sliced T21's until you hit master, then damage sliced after. There's a big difference between 5.7 spd and 7.2 spd when you're leveling up.

PEACE through victory.

JP stole my glory.

Dont know if you're still in the forums, Italian, but why are you doing the first tree (2111) ?

You should move up the THIRD tree (counter-sniping) til xx3x. That gives you Flushing Shot 2 which is a strong AOE attack. By the way, the AOE attacks work in a "pie shaped" area, or cone, in front of you for the full 64m.

And don't feel bad about not knowing what AOE meant... I didn't know what LMAO or ROFL meant for the longest! I saw it so much that I finally dragged one of my close friends aside so nobody would hear me and asked them! Obviously I dont hang around chat rooms enough!
