Any time you posture change up from a cover state you lose cover. 90% of the time a strafe2/starfe1 shot will break cover.

Now conceal shot might be your best bet to stick with while in a covered state vs creatures. Any of your other specials will work just as well if you are shooting at ranged Npc's .

I don't reccomend cover myself, but to answer your question: Strafe 1 and 2 should remove cover. I believe it says this in their descriptions under ctrl+S. Also, if it DOES remove cover, it hits ya with a 10 second delay. However, this has never happened to me or most others as few actually bother to try and take cover. So this is all just theory to me

People are mentioning Strafeshot2 and Strafeshot1 as skills that break cover, and they are correct in that this is the purpose of those shots. It is to force your opponent out of cover to reduce their defenses. The idea would be to hit them with StrafeShot to break cover, then Flushingshot or Startleshot to force them out of prone, and maybe throw in a Flurryshot beforethe posture change to get them dizzy in case they try to go prone again. They are now out of cover and easier to hit.

However, I do not believe this is what you are asking. I believe you are asking what shots you shoot will remove you from cover.

The answer to that question to that is two-fold. The way it is supposed to work, I believe, is that Concealshot and Supriseshot are supposed to be usable from Cover without ever breaking your cover. Supriseshot is supposed to be usable only from cover. Concealshot does not have this restriction and works equally well with or without cover. Other shots may break cover if you use them.

However, I believe that I have seen people reporting that no shots currently break cover.Since you get /Takecover in Marksman and Concealshot and Supriseshotdo not come until you have made some progress in Rifleman, that makes sense to me. If nothing else, I would expect at least Headshots and Mindshots to work with cover since those are the only shots that you get in Marksman for Rifle.

But the bad news is that /takecover does not really help that much. It often takes several attempts to get it to stick, and it takes HAM to use, which you cannot heal while prone. Once it does stick, it does not seem to add that much to your defenses over being prone anyway. So after a while, it just gets to be too much bother to use, and many people just stop trying to use it.

Additionally, Supriseshot seems to work whether you are in cover or not, and because of its long delay and higher HAM use (both the same of Concealshot), but without giving you the benefits of Concealshot ability to keep from being aggroed, there is little incentive to the shot, let alone the cover that is supposed torequire it.
