I recently obtained Rifles IV and though i would become Novice Rifleman. I find a Rifleman trainer who tells me I dont have the required skills. Do I really need to obtain 125,000xp just to get to Novice Rifleman.

My Marksman skills are 4-0-0-3.

Please help. Rifleman was my preferred skills but the thought of working through 125,000xp just to get to Rifleman sucks.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes you need 125,000 exp for that novice box. Plus it'll cost ya 5k credits. I have to tell you that it does get better. Once you get novice, pick up a nice T21 rifle and try out dantooine. Thats where I hunt all the time, savage quenkers. Once you have conceal shot, you can climb your way up the ladder. I just keeps getting better.

Its a slow sometimes painful Climb to novice Rifleman, Kill what ever you feel you can comfortably handle. For me It was Kaadu's and Nudfuh's. I would also recommened levilsqualls on Rori, the run slow so you can kite em rather quickly.

I ran al lot of faction missions on my way to novice. With a laser rifle and being covert I kept getting these camps with two noncoms and a banner and 1800 cash... quick, close to 1500 xp per mission. Or get in a hunting group on dantooine and go to town.

You can also hunt quenkers with your laser rifle. Get a full set of doctor's buffs and go for it. you'll get close to 20,000xp per mission. Good armor and doctor's buffs arew a must though. Good hunting!

or, do it my way... get a spraystick, some decent kinetic armor, and stand in a thug spawn overnight (must have -5k thug faction, which nearly everyone does. if you dont', get that first).

in a night or two at most, you'll have banked your 200k rifle xp. then, you can train novice rifleman and have a jump to the first box.

Oops forgot to mention getting to novice. I bought a nice sliced spray stick. I just ran around corellia doing dire cat missions. Get a full set of buffs and in just a few missions I was novice rifleman. Buff costs like 6k, but you make it back in 3 missions. Takes very little time and they are easy. Spray sticks are nice because you can shoot them up close like pistols, and they do decent damage. Really good rifle exp that way.

what others have said is pretty much how it is done and how it is. all the pain in rifle is getting to novice unlike other skills rifle is designed correctly in that the power is spread through the tree and mastering is VERY much worthwhile. Rifles is one of the few non-dabbler professions.

Well i guess i could be nice........but i wont get too nasty.....LOL.

If you can't even suffer through the grind of 125k exp now, just to get ot novice rifleman...... then i would suggest you stop now. Cuz how are you going to have the patience to grind through the Rifleman tree??

Cuz if you can't grind that........then the rifle tree's of yet again, 3x 175k, 3x 250k, 3x 350k, THEN.....3x 450k exp to get to Master, (cuz all of the experiance points use the same pool), well; i dunno what you are looking for???

But, GL to ya!!

I'm being very nice btw.

I just put on a full suit of composite, got a spraystick and solo'd pikets. No using specials, just fire away. This gets you about 30k xp per lair, so you only have to do about 4 lairs to get novice. This method also works nicely later in the rifleman profession btw.

Do the pickets, it seems to be one of the best ways to grind rifle exp. Or (just like I did) group with some hunters and go to Endor. With the hunting misisons you'll make a ton of rifle exp in no time, and you'll also gain enough cash to buy some decent equipment.

Plus, if you're also leveling scout, you'll make it to the master in a very short time (and you can harvest a lot of stuff).

A friend of mine has joined the game only 10-15 days ago, and in this short time he's master marksman, master scout, novice BH and novice Ranger. And he's not a powerplayer, he plays only in the evenings and sometimes an hour in the late afternoon.
