Hello all!
I am still building my riffleman (still onlyat 1, 1, 1, 2) and i wasplaying around with a char builder. I came up with 2 possible "dabbling" template, one would give me 20 more melee defence and the other would give me melee mitigation 1. Of course i cant have booth if i wantmaster marksman.
I am asking for the wisdom of the veteran here.. wich one is better ??? melee mitigation 1 is nice, but 20 melee defence sound good too......

aye melee defense.. better not to be hit at all than to take marginally less damage.

Rifle is bugged, you're really hard to hit anyway in melee so being even harder to hit is a good thing.

Speaking of melee def......how does this get figured in? I'm mainly asking for ranged def, but I'm sure they operate the same way. Each +1 takes off a certain % of damage or what?

Well "I am still building my riffleman (still only at 1, 1, 1, 2)" led me to believe he was still working on rifleman, melee defence works wonders against quenkers.

Yeah but he asked for advise on his final template, not on his current progress. At least that was how i understood his post.

are you pve-ing? or pvp-ing?
for pve, melee mitigation is worthless. mitigation reduces the range of a potential damaging strike against you. creature damages have ranges like 330-340 pts. that 10 pt spread is what gets "mitigated".
regardless... mit 1 is weak anyway. go melee defense. and, melee defense subtracts from your attackers chance to hit you-- it doesn't affect damage asKezia asked.

Kind of depends. They are removing the stacking defensive mods. If your primary weapon is going to be a rifle I'd go with mitigation. If you plan on switching weapons when they get close you may be better off with the defense.

What leads you to believe that they are removing stacking defenses? Was that stated by any devs?
