There are several diferent rifles out there. I have been using a laser rifle since somebody gave it to me at skill rifle 2. The thing I am wondering is it time for a change? My primary means of attack is 60m prone 3-5 headshot2sand "BAM" your dead (PvE). So, should I be looking for a diferent rifle a T21 or a Tusken rifle for example? Also, If they do manage to get up close I'd like to have a good close range rifle to whip out. With the laser rifle I almost never hit up close even when kneeling. So all you experts you've helped me beforecan you do it again?

1. Is there a better long range rifle than the laser

2. Whats the best Face to Face (close range) rifle?

3. Any other tips?

what you need to look at is animal vulnerabilities . Alot of the time i use jawa ion rifle or the showerhead because most mobs are vulnerable to stun or cold . as far as range it goes t21 for armored mobs long range , laser for unarmored at long range , jawa at carbine range and spraystick up close. these have worked the best as i am a new riflewoman with low skills .

Alot of these questions depend on your level, to be honest. A novice rifleman will need to rely more on his or her weapon than a sniper or master sharpshooter to score a hit, obviously.

At low level, I recommend keeping your laser rifle over the T21 for opponents with low armor rating and relatively low defense against energy. The rationale behind this is that the laser should do better DPS than the T21 until you reach master (I'd calculate the DPS for each weapon to confirm that to be true)

In addition to this, on Tempest, the laser has better accuracy at ideal than the T21.
For now, the best in close rifleis the spraystick. I highly recommend this gun for any beginning riflemen as it only has a -20 point blank modifier. One thing to note, however, is that after the patch, we get a new gun, the DXR-6R disruptor rifle. This will give a very good point blank mod, BUT its at countersniping 2 that you certify in it, and it has very high HAM costs.

As for tips, when I did rifleman, I concentrated on the first two trees of rifleman first, getting conceal shot (I believe its concealment I) and then quickly getting sniper. The accuracy makes most of this post moot, as with a poor accuracy T21 and Sniping III, I could hit just about anything from 20 meters and out. As for other tricks and tips, I'd recommend befriending a Creature Handler or Melee profession and work together. They'll need the help knocking out bigger targets and the screen is a wonderful thing to help your range and mind (No need to worry about stims *smile*)

I hope this was a help.

Long Range - Post Nerf T21/Laser Rifle

Up Close - Pre-Nerf T21.

I'm on Radiant, we have no pre-nerf T21s

Nobody ever mentions the E-11 Stormtrooper One. It has the best ideal range modifier of the rifles (cept maybe a prenerf T-21, I dunno) at +40, fairly low HAM costs for a rifle, much better speed then the laser rifle, and a much closer min-maxover the Laser Rifle, resulting in more reliable DPS but not any of the once-in-a-while super hits you get from the Laser.

For starting sharpshooters I highly recommend the E-11 over the Laser (a more reliable damage dealer) over both the Laser and the T-21. Of course once you begin approaching master I'd pick upa T-21.

Oh yeah and it's Medium AP just like the Laser.

Up close the Spaystick is best. I believe the new DXR-6R will cost a fortune if it's true the power cores for it can only be looted from the Geonoshian Complex and are not a craftable quest schematic. Your also going to want a Jawa Rifle, a lot of the stuff in game is vulnerable to Stun Damage.

i use a T21 for up close and distance and its not a pre-nerf. i find that the range penalties dont really mean that much up close and just ignore range and fire when i want and dont worry about switching weapons.

If your a Master Rifleman, Then just use the T21 or a good Jawa Ion all the time. Once your Master your accuracy is high enough. Sure the spraystick can be alright but its damage sucks, and its not any faster that the other guns once your a master rifleman. I almost never miss as as master rifle, unless i get some status effects or are fighting a defense stacker.
