Thread: A question for the veteran rifleman pvp'ers

I just started playing pvp, I have the really nice composite and doctor asa second profession so I have buffs to health and action. My mind stats are 800 mind, 1100 on both mind secondaries. I use muon and fishak.

Heres my question, how do combat a knock down and dizzy because I just lay there for 10 minutes standing and falling while they beat on me. I don't have a chance to heal myself on the ground or cure myself. I was just wondering what I could do to counter this attack combo?

Itsa pretty hard to combat combo. All I do is spam stand.

If you're doctor, make a macro that does "/stand; /curestate dizzy self" or whatever the line is to cure yourself of dizzy. It works by doing the cure dizzy in the split second between when you stand up and fall back down and is much more reliable than doing it by hand.

Well if we want a dizzy/kd we have one, just not as efficient. Flushing shot 2 gives dizzy, and suppression fire give a posture change down. But then you need 4004 marksman.

Also, only bounty hunters and TKA's have a "real" dizzy/kd.

I read somewhere that spamming isn't the best way to go. Better is to stand once, let the attempt play out, and if it doesn't work try again. With spamming if you stand up, then you have stand in your que, it will read as an attempted posture change and knock you down again. I don't know if this is true or not but it makes sense.

This is true. Spamming stand ques up more posture changes. It is the same thing that allows people to tumble to standing, while standing. Hit it once, if it fails, hit it again. Repeat till you are standing.

Melee range is where the melee professions are supposed to shine and where riflemen are supposed to get knocked upside the head. All of the suggestions above are valid, but I think the most important one is to stay out of melee range. Save your burst runs, especially if you're flying solo. If you're in a group, let the tanks take the heat and tear it up from 64m.

Not just Melee with the Dizzy/KD. BH Carbine makes life miserable with it as well.

flushing shot2 is a posture up + stun AOE attack

Flurry shot 2 is your AOE dizzy

Flurry shot is your single target dizzy.

I was originally just talking about single professions.

But if you're gonna talk stacked professions, then Rifleman/Defense Stacker (which is what I am) takes care of BH/Carbine pretty well.

I think you are a little confused. Shadowlith was just pointing out that a melee profession is not the only single profession that has a dizzy/kd. The bounty hunters also get one in the carbine line.

As a pure rifleman you get no defense vs kd. If you are a doctor already then try that macro that someone listed. If you are just a rifleman, pray that you stand up before you're dead. Otherwise you can pick up defenses from Pistoleer or Fencer, they each get +50 to def vs kd I believe, there's no guarantee that these defenses will work in the future though while holding a rifle, only time will tell.

Thanks! I will try that.

On a side note you would think a rifle could knock people down with a sniper shot or something. Are we the only ones without a kd/dizzy combo other than crafters?
