Well, I'm fairly new to the game and am on the Chimaera server. It seems other servers have much better resources for rifles, so we're left with pretty low quality ones... notsure if that makes a difference.
Anyway, I started by thinking of going to bounty hunter until I mastered marksman. Then, while I was grinding on Trapping XP I found I was gaining a load of rifles xp, so I decided to get a few pieces of rifleman until I needed the skillpoints. Well, once I had 4 4 0 2 (I know it's not the best way to do it, but I didn't know much about it then) I decided I may as well go for master rifleman.
I've swapped and changed skills in other disciplines a bit and am now heading to Master Rifleman, Master CH, Novice Medic. I thought this combination would be good in PvE as I have riflemans power, tank pets and can heal myself and pets. But now that I'm master rifleman, CH 3 3 3 3 and Novice medic I want to start PvP a bit more and I've been trawling through these forums trying to find advice.
I'm getting confused with the whole cross-profession bonuses and what will happen with them in the upcomming update and future updates. I realise I need to boost my defence somehow, but what is the best way to do that, especially with future update rumours in mind?
I've already bought a +9 riflespeed belt, so I'm totally sorted on weaponspeed. I'm looking for ideas/advice on a template, that can also include skilltapes, armor attachments and any other clothing.
Once I master creature handler I will have the following:
Master Rifleman
Master Creature Handler
Novice Medic
+9 riflespeed belt (2 slots remaining)
+13 bleed resistance shirt (4 slots remaining)
Various other clothing/composite armor I can add tapes to (I prefer not to use armor unless i have to for armor attachments)
Lots of Muon Gold
I'm guessing I somehow need to increase my defence vs knockdown, but I don't think tapes will give me anywhere near enough skillmods.
I also had a problem with a commando. Maybe it was my own fault for letting him get so close, but I beat him 1-on-1 and then got incap due to being set on fire. Is there a way to effectively combat this? Or should I just concentrate more on keeping max distance between me and my target?
I'd like to hear all ideas/advice, including any posts to related threads as I may have missed them.
